Should I be cutting back my Lady Lavender Passiflora?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Last year was the first year I overwintered it. It didn't get as huge and full as this year so I left it alone. Now that it is so huge is it better for me to cut it down to help it for next year?? Need everyone's advice.
Thanks, Donna

I certainly am not an expert on passiflora's, but mine got very big this year also. I figure that if it survived when it was much smaller, then it should survive overwinter with a good cut back this year. I am sure I am in a warmer zone than you also though.

Well, I did it! I cut my baby down....not completely but enough that I just about filled a garbage bag full. I did take cuttings so I hope they root.

If they root I would certainly be interested in trading. As far as I know--the ones that grow around here die back every year and come back in Spring!! Bonnie

So you guys have had this baby in the ground over winter?!?!? Oh man that would be incredible. I have 1 left in the yard that I'm going to leave out and hope for the best. I'll mulch it to the point of practically building a compost pile on it;)
Will everyone that has over wintered this 1 outside please speak up so I can see what zones your in?
Thanks a bunch;)

Are you letting it go dormant or do you have lights set up over it? It would be great if I could allow some of these to go dormant inside w/o risking death or having to set up more lighting.
Thanks;)

No I haven't let it go dormant. The plant is just beside the light not under. I water but not alot.
