All my pinks are going nuts. I do not know if it is just their time or if it is the Messenger or the Spray and Grow I bought last month. I have never seen so many blooms. When I go out at night, I almost gag with the smell.
One of my top favorites this year. I like her much better this time than the first flush I had.
I am so glad Susie had such a special one named after her. This is one of Susie's seeds but Tracey grew out the seed for her and named it after her good friend Susie.
The many faces of Susanne
Pretty one. Can you believe I do not have it?
Your photos of Susanne are past pretty, really nice!! And, I love the history, which I did not know, makes me love Susanne twice as much - and, despite horrible luck, Susanne blooms her heart out here in Arky and we love her fragrance, I wish all of them were scented as nicely. If she doesn't make it over winter, she WILL be replaced next growing season...
Is she darker for you Sherry in hot, humid Arkansas?? I remember those photos of Mary's where she was such a great pink.
I am beginning to realize there is a juvenile color of brugs and then a mature color when the tree is 2 to 3 old.
Kell, she is a different color here. I'm a tickler for color and I tweak descriptions until I hate myself. Mine appears to be pink or rose, but that's not the right color, see for yourself. Yours, in the photo, appears more orange, which I love, but I have zero complaints re mine, she is a bloomer, against all odds!!! Lucky I'm nutz for recurve, huh??!! She is such a girl, I love that!!
PS - that was her very first flush and she was much darker her second flush, but was swarmed by Western Flower Thrips, and the life sucked outta her, before I could take a photo, grrrrrrr!!!

Great pictures, kell and Sherry. It's amazing the differences in colors from different locations
I am quite impressed with the colors from both areas! Beautiful!!
The colors on both those Brugs are amazing.
Great photos, I would show you mine but sadly I don't have Suzanne. Wonder what color she would be in SC??
I know I commented on Sherry's Susanne yesterday. But the post is gone!! LOL
I am so jealous Sherry! I never get true pink color here on the darker pinks. I always get that orange cast to them. Could it be my water?? I will be anxious to see if Margie and Sue get any true pinks. I am wondering if Margie's new one is a true pink or if it ages to a orange tint.
Of all people not to get a true pink color!! LOL. Kin they will see only orange looking over my yard by satellite. LOL
I'm so jealous of y'alls Susannes. Mine was full of buds, we got a hot wind and I forgot to water.........you don't wanna know what the blooms look like, lol.
oh no Cala sorry to hear that! Susanne is beautiful so hopefully your next flush will be alot nicer :)
Glad to hear she survived for you, Mary.
Kell, as a novice to Brugs that were from your original stock, is this Suzanne?
Do you get your strikeing dark backgrounds by photographing at night?
I was gone about 18 nights and came back to Whiskers with 19 beautiful blooms. Then friday I got a great flush of these 10" long beauties. We have had wind and rain for the last few days. They are past pictures, but still smell great.
Is this Suzanne?
Thanks,
Sidney
Geez, did I send you that one, Sidney?? If I did, I want it back. LOL.
What a gorgeous picture. Look at that girlie girl!! It could be. Mine does not have such a low calyx but mine do have the 2 splits directly across from each other which yours look like it has too.
Yes, I go out at night and take pics. It covers up a multitude of sins. And I also think it really showcases the blooms. I got the idea from Barb, but she acutally does hers with a black backdrop. I am too lazy.
I hope you were on a long vacation and had a great time Sidney!!
Shesh, LOL, I worked 16 nights straight and am ready to do it again. I did love it, just too short.
Sidney
I should go out at night to take pictures so no one would see my weeds but I'm afraid of the "critters" that roam at night!
Sidney, your pink one is pretty too.
Beautiful display Sidney.
Suzanne is a beauty regardless of her shade of pink!
Very pretty, Sidney, I love mine too, she is so easy...
I agree that Suzanne is beautiful regardless of what tones of pink she shows. The picture of mine was taken in the greenhouse last winter.
Sorry, the picture did not upload. I just tried again and it still won't let me. If I get a chance later, I will see if it works.
