Sticky rice

I have some sticky rice, doesn't everyone ? But the problem is I don't quite know how to prepare it.Would it be the same rice/water proportion as Jasmine rice ? Or is it necessary to steam it ?Is a bamboo steamer best, or a rice cooker ? It would be nice to learn how to cook this variety as I really like rice.
