Everyone show off your gardens!

I want to see what other Texans are growing this year. Don't be shy. Please show me.
Thanks,
Julie

Well it will be awhile before my gardens are back to normal...Hurricane Rita made a mess..lol...

My Gardens are still in the foundation stage with most of my plants not being the best full grown things this year. But here is the new beds and the older bed at the frt left side.

JuBabe--I'm snooping around here, so I don't know if I'm allowed to post, but I do like your late summer garden--especially the subtle color combinations with the ornamental grass in the back.

Moodene--so sorry to hear your gardens were beat up in the storm. Hope all else is OK for you.

Here is the raised bed system I am working on. Just the small stuff - but just wait a few years and then look again!

and here is the view from the summer before I put in phase two this fall - nothing fancy yet.

Those raised gardens will be wonderful! You are so lucky that you have so much space. You will be amazed at the difference next year.

My garden is 2 tiered. The pond is on the bottom section with the waterfall on the top. It has all been up and running for about 8 years. The first picture is in the back.

This picture is our front yard. We tore out all of shrubs last winter and are in the process of reworking all that space. It's kinda puny now, but will be better next year.

Ahhh JuBabe, that waterfall and all your plants look just wonderful! Your front yard is beautiful green, but I see too much of that green! ;)

Mitch, in the next few years we are going to be so jealous of your hard work. It's so much easier to do it right in the beginning instead of going backwards.

This is one direction in the back.

This is a small snippet of our backyard oasis. I realized this week that I need to update my overall view photos!

konkreteblond,
your gardens are just gorgeous! I love the way everything looks cottage garden style. It all blends so beautifully.

I agree! There is way too much green. My eventual goal is to swing the front gardens at an angle along the center walkway. If I do it a bit at a time, I think that my hubby might not notice. Hehehehehe.

melanie,
Your water features are "to die for" I love all your water lillies. I bet you can feel cool on a 100 degree day in your backyard.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

JuBabe, I recognize that last pic. I think I've talked to you about yours before. (it's so easy to get confused here!) It looks beautiful too!

Oh yes, Mel's yard is wonderful!

...don't you hate when you can't spell...

konkreteblond,
I think that I remember talking to you, too. I wonder where it was.

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

Okay, I found it . It was the thread about wild or tidy gardens. I think that neither of us fits in the tidy category!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh yes, that's it. My back is just chaotic. I did try to tidy up the front bed and just ended up making it ugly. lol I'm going to make it more cottage/chaotic next year. I've got seeds for tall Poppies that I'm going to put out!

Midland, TX(Zone 7b)

Hmmmmmm, chaotic... I bet to go stand out in front of you garden it looks rather peaceful.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 7b)

Konkretes garden is SO full of color! I wish I had half of her color spread through my yard!

I have learned so much from her, and just wait until next year... I will have pockets of color like her!

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

If I ever got mad and wanted to get back at someone, all I'd have to do is throw out some zinnia seeds in their beds. I'm beginning to think they might be "considered invasive". lol

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I currently have only one bed. It is a butterfly/hummingbird garden. Here is a snap of a butterfly from earlier this week. Will post another of the small garden.

Here is a picture when it was first beginning to take off. I think the bed has done great.
