Plants that don't bloom But need to.

Louisville, KY

Their are a few plants that many of us grow that are not yet named properly or are acutally know exactly what they are. Here are a few off hand

Alocasia Hilo Beauty never had a documented flower
It is best known this is not a actual alocasia put possible a Caladium

Xanthosoma albo marginata or the micky mouse plant
Most likely xanthosoma atroverins mutation but no one knows for sure till we get a flower

This last one maybe one of the most well known house plants of all time. The yellow pothos is what we most know it by. The green and yellow vine found in homes around america. This plant can grow to get leaves 3 ft long once climbing in a tree in the tropics. It is said that once it grows up about 30 to 70 ft that the vines will hang down and flower usually 30ft up or more. This maybe why no one has seen it bloom? They are not sure exactly what it is and the scientific name has changed countless times.

Brian, the pothos that you mention grows in trees, palms and up the sides of houses here. I didn't know they flowered! The leaves get huge on the really tall vines and down in Mexico(way down) they grow to the tops of palm trees and hang down.

That is a very pretty ear too!! I want one of all the ears you have, bwilliams!! hehehe but really, if I could I would LOVE to have one of each!! Bonnie
