That is gorgeous. I got some from the co-op a few years ago, they all died. I think I'm in the wrong zone.

How did you get it to be so big??!! A friend bought me one from an online nursery and it died--couldn't figure out right amount of water, heat etc for it!! waaaaa Congrats on your wonderful plant!! Bonnie

Outstanding! What a great looking plant.

I had one of those for 4 years. It never bloomed and finally ended up in Bat Lily heaven. I don't know how you did that, but that is one nice looking plant. Congrats!

Are you pollenating it yourself for seed...hint hint.lol.

No, I just bought it 3 years ago and will tell the trick to keep them alive and healthy. This advice is for the WHITE tacca.
Place them in a large pot or urn, give them shade but filtered sun in the morning and water them every 4 to 6 days.
Wait until you see the leaves starting to wilt a little and then DRENCH the pot with water , in a few hours you will see the leaves up again.
No need to fertilize them, just good mix potting soil with perlite.
Place copper pennies in the ground around the trunk and you will
eliminate snails
I understand that the BLACK. tacca doesn't do as well in a pot,
I have a young one in a pot and do not progress as fast, they say they
do very well in the ground.
Thank you all for the accolades, it made my day.
Armando.

Thanks for the tips! If I ever lay hands on one again I will know what to do!! Bonnie

As for the Black--in the ground is a big problem for many of us in US!! Our climate is not suitable for this plant. Maybe Florida, southern Texas or southern California?? I am in upstate South Carolina and I KNOW it would not survive in the ground here--maybe not even in summer??!! Well, maybe with special care such as a cold case for overwintering?? No idea!! Maybe someday I will invest and figure it out?!! They are sure lovely plants whether white or black, eh?!!

Thank you for your tips Armando!
