These get sun up till 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon. These are Xanthosoma Lime Zinger, X. violaceum and Colocasia Black Magic. I think you can see C. fallax in the lower right corner.
Some ears
The Brug over behind looks like something really LOVES to eat it!! hehehe Bonnie
Bonnie, the caterpillars have been awful this year. I couldn't spray Dipel because I also had monarch and pipevine swallowtail cats that I didn't want to kill.
This one is kind of wet and fuzzy, lol. I thought I had time to snap the picture before the sprinkler made a full circle, but I was wrong! It splashed across my back just as I snapped the picture!
This is A. portadora on the right and X. jeoquinii in the front and left. I let the jeoquinii get a little too dry and some of the leaves yellowed. The wind tore the portadora leaves, but it grows new ones fast.
I don't know which Ilike best. You have so many neat ones. I guess I love the look of picture #4. So many colors there. What variety!
Do you have Black Magic Kell? I like the different shades on them too and when they get too big and overgrown or the leaves get ugly, I just cut them back to the ground and they come right back!
Calalily a very nice showing.
Linda
There is a nursery here that had tons last month. I need to go back. I have the Ruffles one. Maybe Sue wants to go to!!
OHHHHHHHHHH Susie, I just went to look for the ears I saw there that day and I found a pic of something I think you want. LOL. I will email it to you. I do not want to have to type out the name.
This on side is a Black Magic isn't it?
Yes, yours look better than mine, lol
great photos!
I especially like the imagery of the sprinkler system in attack mode...lol.
This aroid thing is really contagious.
best,
don
Don, there's no feeling like being out in the 90 degree heat, sweating from dragging sprinklers around and have a shot of cold water go across your back while you're trying to snap a picture! Since I was in between two sprinklers, I got it from both sides!
