For the first time ever, I planted some Musa and Colocasias in my garden, and I know that before too long I will have to dig them up and bring them inside before frost. But what do I do with them then? I have potted up cannas, and also just stored the tubers like dahlias before - either way seems to work for them. I wouldn't mind keeping the smaller ones going all winter if I can - advice anyone?

For the Musa you can overwinter it inside if you can provide enough light and warmth and if it's a manageable size. If not then dig up, put it in a pot, cut all the foliage back, only leaving about 1 ft. or so of the trunk. Then just let it go dormant. I keep mine in an unheated basement. Very little light, around 50 degrees, and I let the soil stay dry for the most part. That's what I do, but there might be a better way to do it.
