Chilling Daffodil bulbs

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I am in zone 7b and have found that buying good tulip bulbs in September and then chilling them in a little refrigerator until late November or early December, yields the best results in our relatively mild winter. Should I do the same with Daffodil bulbs?

Glenn,

I am in 7b/8a and daffodils seem to return fine for me year after year and do fine also on initial planting without chilling, and I have planted lots of varieties. They do not have the same long cooling requirement tulips do. Your climate is cooler than ours and you should be fine.

Glenn,

While I live in Zone 9, we still have winters in the 30's and 40's. Living in NC, I'm sure the Daffs will be very happy without any extra chilling. Although if it gets too cold, you may want to mulch a little more around your bulbs.

Thanks to both of you. I'll plan on putting them in anytime then.
