I am brand new to Dave's Garden and this looks like it will be a great help and lots of fun. My wife and I fell in love with several varities of Crocosmia during a late spring visit to Seattle. We have a home in PA ( Zone 5) and a second place in Central Florida ( zone 8/9). We're wondering about the proper time to plants the bulbs for both places. The bulbs I have at the moment are Lucifer, George Davidson, and Emily McKensie. Any help and suggestions will be most welcome!
crocosmia planting times
I'm sure that someone here with more knowledge of your zone will answer more completely, but I don't see why you can't plant them now. They're great hardy plants that spread beautifully.
And, welcome to Dave's Garden!
Hi and welcome to DG! What zone is your PA home? Spring would probably be best there, and some varieties may not be winter hardy there. They'll grow like weeds at your Florida home though, and it should'nt matter. Good luck, Neal
