red tabby's owner murdered

Looking for new family for this gorgeous long haired red tabby.

this kitty's 'mom' , a tenant on my good friend's property, was strangled in her home 1 week ago last Friday in Bellflower, Ca.He comes from a home w 2 other red tabbys and a Cairn Terrier. Police took other 2 cats and dog to local animal shelter. the dog was retrieved by a family member and this kitty hid out. Found him hungry for food and attention on Sunday following the tragedy.
been desperately trying to locate cat rescue to take him. no luck. I had to bring him home with me tonight to save him from the pound and husband is having a fit.
poor baby hid as soon as I let him out of his carrier. I think my cocker spaniel, normally desensitized to cats understood his cries.Kitty came out to him ,rubbing him and responding to his unusual play advances.
would love to find loiving home with other animals for this abandoned kitty.I'm in Long Beach, Ca.
