Kell, Daisymae rode out Hurricane Rita in her house...I was able to take a pic of her before the worst part came thru..The brug in this pic is Gypsy Queen that did have buds before the storm...The next pic is when she was going back to her house after eating her dinner...noticed the messy yard..
Kell, Your Tough Little Lady Piggy??
Daisy Mae is just CUTE!
She's the cutest little pig I've seen yet.
Where is Lisa's Hurricane Hambone? She will make his piggy heart race. She is a beauty.
Oh, what a cutie.
Ya'll will have to excuse my messy backyard cuz Hurricane Rita came thru here with 100 miles an hour winds...sigh....but Daisymae still like her yard..lol...
What a little porker. LOL. I just love Daisymae. What a face, too cute. So you didn't take her inside?? What a brave piggy. I am getting attached to her, Nadine. Give her a kiss from me. XX
So glad you all came thru OK. I hope this is it now. NO MORE HURRICANES!!
Nadine, that is a face only a mommy would love...lol..just kidding....I would love to squeeze her little cheeks....glad everything is ok after Rita blew through...judy
Daisymae made Dave's Photo Of The Day! http://davesgarden.com/nl.php?date=2005-09-26
DaisieMae sure is cute and very brave piggy!! Congrats on making Photo of the Day!! Bonnie
WOW!!! I just got power back last nite and wanted to check in..and didn't know that my piggy,Daisymae made Dave's Photo of the Day!..Cool!..
Daisymae would not come in the house on the nite of the storm..I chased her butt all over the backyard and she didn't come even close to the patio door to get in..she went to her house instead and plopped down...I wasn't about to pick up a 250 or more pound mad piggy....anyway she is happy now laying in the sun snoozing..
I didn't have any damage to my house or my barn,,just lot of tree limb debris and 2 tree tops that snapped off..
Most of my brugs got their limbs stripped of leaves, stems snapped-tops gone with the wind(time will tell if they come back alive),and some young brugs that was planted few weeks ago that didn't make roots in time lefted empty spot in the ground......most of my tropicals were blown over and got them staked up..

My poor Daisymae. Too bad she can't talk, she could tell us what it was like to be out in it.
Do you think she changed her mind as it was happening but didn't know how to catch your attention to let her in. I can just picture her outside your door as the hurricane is raging and crying LET ME IN LET ME IN!! wee oop wee oop!
Thank God she is a chubwub or she would have been swept away!!
I am glad no major damage, Nadine. I hope your garden recovers fast!!!
WELCOME BACK!!
Kell, We could see her from our patio doors all the way to her house..she did not move from that house Friday nite until Saturday afternoon to come eat and go back to her house...so we knew where she was all along..lol...We stayed up all nite watching the storm come thru..It is good to be back....
Now about giving her a Kiss..just rather blow them to her..lol..
Your Brugs should be ok!! I cut mine to just above the ground every year and protect with several inches of mulch and they grow back on new wood every Spring--usually bigger and better than the previous year!! Bonnie
Ok, Cool...I do hope so..
They are pretty hardy actually, Nadine. They have a strong will to survive!!
