Carnation Seeds Wanted

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Looking for seeds(or plants)
A freind of the family died a few months ago.Her son saved the carnations from the funeral thinking he could get viable seeds from them once they dried. He asked me if you can start carnations from seed and I said yes ,he then asked where the seeds were in the flowers, and I told him,and he said there was none there.I then got the explanation of what flowers he was trying to get seeds from
So if anyone has any xtra I'll find something to trade for them

Many of the dianthus varieties are what most people refer to as carnations.

I have this carnation and will look for the seeds and get back to you. I know it makes seeds because I grew it from seed.

Well you learn something new everyday here. I have Picotee dianthus varieties but had no idea that they were a form of carnation. I only got a little bit of seed from them this year. If I run across anymore I will let you know.
Thanks pam
