Kell The Rum flower is beautiful.

Oh what a homely thing. I think you need to send it to me to see if I can perk it up, poor baby!
Wowzer, that night photography thing you got going sure is neat, I will have to try that.

What a beauty. Looks like it is made out of crape paper in the picture. I really like the color.

Hi Kell,
HaHa, I found you on this site too. What beautiful flowers. Do you grow a lot of these? I just found them and so, I guess, I better grow a few of these too. LOL

Thanks Rose and Makeshi! LOL Sue, I need to be copying your photography!!

Hi Crystal!! I bought a ton of them last summer and am trying to winter them over! I brought a lot of them into my hoophouse and they are so stressed. The ones I left outside are doing so much better. But if we get a frost, those will not be happy!

I am planning on even getting more as soon as they have them in the nurseries!! I had flowers all summer and just loved them!

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Aaahhhh.....I can hear Calypso music playing in the background, feel the soft island breezes on my face and your beautiful Hibiscus blooms complete my dream!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Shirley! These did add a whole new dimension to my courtyard. And every day I would rush out to see which ones were blooming.

What is that beauties name?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee, I do not seem to have the name, Shirley. I thought I did.

Then call it, "Kell's Beauty"!

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

Kell , did you buy seeds or plants .

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

OK Shirley! LOL

Tony the purple one I got at Regans. They had a lot with no names in the summer. I am definitely going to get more in spring! Sue found a good sized one at HD in San Jose. I sure hope they get them in. Regan's was very high priced.

Fruitport, MI(Zone 5a)

Kell, Your hibiscus are beauties. I really like the purple one. Do you know if Regan's do mail order?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, those are so pretty!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks Susie.

Kathy, they do have email order but on roses only. They are a huge clearing house of roses. They do not grow hibiscus, but buy them as a nursery would to sell so only have them on occasion. It is a great nursery though you pay for it big time.

Around here, these fancy hibiscus are getting more and more available. There is a company now putting them out in 5 gallon pots at an affordable price. Maybe you could get your nursery to order from them. Here is their label. I think they have a website.

Thanks Kell. I found their websit. They do have some pretty hibiscus. I didn't see any blue or purple ones though. I've been looking for one for a long time. Does anyone know of a nursery that may have one available?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The only purple one I got from that grower is this one. It opens real purple then turns a silver purple. I will say this hibiscus bloomed for me every single day of the summer. I was amazed. And guess what, it is still outside and has a bloom on it right now!!

Kell,

On the Bahama Bay section of greenarrownurseries, they show a "Rum Runner" that has very different coloring than yours and what PF has. I wonder why.

Yours is sooo beautiful.

There are 2 on PF that look a lot like mine.

I just looked at the Bahama Bay site, it is lighter. Which is funny, because the one I posted here in the first post is lighter then it is when it just opens. I had a pic. of 2 together, one older bloom and one new one, but I can't find it right now.

Here is Rum Runner just opened the first day. .

Kell, nice blooms all of them.
The two purples looks like Marilyn Quayle (didn't I give you this name before?) and, the last, Morning Glory.

Kell, the photo of your hib. Rum Runner is gorgeous. What are you using to creat the dark background. I have 5 hib. that i bought last year on DG co-op. Only two have bloomed, 2 otheres now have buds so I have hopes. Had to bring them into the house as I keep the gh at about 50 degrees and think that is a little cool for them.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Donna, I am not even sure it mad eit thru. I lost a few. They hate the wet winters here.
