Doesn't matter what kind. I don't have plumerias I can trade but I do have lots of brugmansias and tons of other things http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/546009/
Here's a link to a few things I can trade. This is a n older post, so not all are still available any longer. I'm no longer trading the iochromas, but I can root more if you want to trade iochromas for plumerias. I have one plumeria that came from a cutting last year, I think it's white, and it just now has a bud on it, we'll soon find out what it is. It might start a whole new thing for me LOL I hope not, there's not too much room left for any thing else. But I would like to have a couple diff ones. if possible.
kathy_ann
If you don't see anything of interest on this site email me I'll give you another list of plants I can trade. I'll see if I can find that other link that lists some other plants and come back here and post it.
Looking for named plumeria cuttings
Here's another link, that lists a few other things I can trade, and I don't mind doubling up on a few of the plants my 2 your 1 to get the plumeria cuttings.

Hi Kathy,
What do these look like?
Peacock Ginger and Black Forrest Calla Lilly.
Do you have pics?
I have pics of both, but the black calla has already bloomed I have a picture of the tag that came with it though when I bought it. can snap that and post it here too ok
be right back
kathy
I can send a hefty amount of peacock ginger.
here's what the black calla will look like, there is one bulb left, with 2 shoots coming out, or it's two bulbs with two diff shoots, not sure which, don't wan t to dig it up, one shoot is full of leaves. emerged already flowered, the other shoot is just now coming up, so don't know what it will do o r if it's another bulb yet. That's all I have left of these.
Thanks Kathy,
The Ginger looks like a hosta shaped plant.
The Calla is beautiful! ;) Thanks.
Yes, the peacock ginger isn't tall it's short like ahosta, and it is not hardy in my area, nor in yours. Let me know if you want to trade.
Kathy, I don't have any plumeria available to trade right now, and most of us here on this forum are just starting out with growing plumerias and don't have branches to prune yet. It takes a few years to get to the point where a tree needs trimming. I've been growing them for about two years now, and most of mine are single-branched rooted cuttings that I just obtained this year, but my largest ones have three branches. When these three branches start branching again, I may have something to cut, but it is hard to prune because one doesn't want to disfigure a beautiful tree. In a few years, I will probably be able to prune a branch without it being noticable on the tree.
In case you didn't know, I always recommend Aloha Palms to people on a budget who want to start growing plumerias because they sell them for a very cheap price of $1.99 each. You have to buy a minimum of five, but with shipping, it comes to about $15, which is not a bad initial investment. They are not named varieties, but they are beautiful nonetheless. I still have eight of the thirteen that I bought from them, and they were the first plumeria cuttings that I bought. Here's a link: http://www.alohapalms.com/cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi You may want to consider waiting until January or February to order them so you can start rooting them in the spring when the weather starts to warm. Fall and winter are the hardest times to root plumeria cuttings since they need a lot of heat to root. Their Rainbows, Apricots, Reds, and Singapores in particular can be a bit tricky to root, but heat will give you a fighting chance! LOL! Good luck!
Here's one of my yellows from AP:
Thanks so much Clare for the information, I thought someone told me once that it takes alot of heat to root them, I rooted mine in the summer time.

Hey, I just won 25 different cutting s on ebay. Same auction. Katrina messed up some of their plumerias and she had a deal that was too good to pass up. I'm thrilled. Don't know if there are 25 diff ones, or just l0 or so. but I'm thrilled none the less. She did say there were quite a few diff ones in the auction.
Good luck to you, If its who I think, Itll be a crap shoot for names no doubt.
But for a few bucks a piece you cant go wrong.
Kathy_ann, you really have to be careful whom you buy from on eBay. I made a huge mistake recently and bought from someone that I didn't know. The cuttings were so cheap that I thought I had nothing to lose. I had a lot to lose. After I won one of her auctions for 10 plumeria cuttings, I did a little research, and I found that several of my fellow plumie growers had received bad cuttings from her but failed to leave negative feeback.
Sure enough, when her plumerias arrived, they came with a bug, which I swiftly killed. I did not realize it at the time, but I believe now that it was a long-horned borer beetle. When I re-cut the very dried ends of the plumeria cuttings, I found that the entire cuttings -- all 13 of them because she threw in extras -- had a very bad infestation of the grubs of Lagocheirus undatus, the Frangipani Borer also called long-horned beetle, who live inside plumeria cuttings and eat the insides of the tree branches. Each cutting had major damage, and so I destroyed all of them and disposed of them immediately.
Not only would the plumeria cuttings have rotted in short order with these grubs inside the cuttings, but the beetle infestation would have destroyed my entire plumeria collection. If this woman is sending these beetle-infested cuttings to places all over the country, many trees will end up being killed in a couple of years. This is the reason why it is required by law that Florida nurseries be inspected and each package which is mailed be inspected as well.
This woman was temporarily removed from eBay for about a week, and so I couldn't give her negative feedback, but she is back now starting today. I lodged a complaint with PayPal and eBay and will receive my money back from that auction, and I just pray that a beetle wasn't hiding in the box and escaped from it into my garden. The whole thing taught me a good lesson, and I will never order from someone that I don't know again. This is the same seller of your auction. I strongly suggest that you try to cancel the auction and get your money back. Sue seems like a nice person, but she is selling infested plumeria cuttings. There is no way that she doesn't know the cuttings are infested. She can see them clearly after she makes the initial cut. After my refund comes through, I'll leave appropriate feedback.

I know who you are talking about Clare. I bought a penang peach from this seller. The first cutting she sent was so awful, I emailed her imediately. She resent and added a couple of extra cuttings to the box. They didn't look any better than the first. Not one cutting was firm and rootable. Now you make me glad I just chucked them in the trash and added another mark in my lessons learned box.
WEll, I don't know how to get my money back from paypal, I sent an e check, I contacted Clare, and I contacted the seller and asked if she would send themoney back to me. It was a long letter I sent her. Hopefully I can retract the whole transaction.
hard lesson to have to learn I guess. I feel awful now.
It did make it hard for me to know how bad she was when she didn't have much bad feedback according to the good.
I did hear back from her she's gladly going to refund the money as soon as the e check clears. she said she is inspected yearly. and they are coming this friday andshe willbring this up with them, she said she has no infestation. I mentioned I ws also concerned with the folks saying the poor condition of the plumerias , soft, etc... It just really bothered me thenegative feedback I was getting. She also asked me to please cancel her auctions as she was doing some bidding on my auctions, and I told her I would do this for her.
I also asked her to send me pictures of the cuttings, since the e check won't clear till the 30th of september. Ijust wanted to see what they looked like.
I've only been given a few plumeria cuttings over the years, but I've managed to root them all. Dispite all who have mentioned they are hard to root, I followed instructions. Not saying I could root hers.
I wish there was a way to find out how many of us she's damaged with her plumies.
thanks for your help and concern guys. I'll know better from now on.
I'd like to try again when I get my refund, who's a good ebayer to trust this time ha?

Thanks malestrom
Malestrom,
I have had some bad experiences with lilamalai, I won seeds from her and never received them. I finally got my money back after a whole slew of excuses......I hope that it was an abnormality. I usually check out the sellers first and she had good reviews. Have you had good experiences with her? If so maybe I will try her out again one day.
Lisa
I have had experiences with all of them except her,
She came highly reccomended by folks I trust implicitly on MPG.
MPG has done extensive forum threads on e-bay sellers, perhaps Daves has too?
I am very particular about whom I buy from.
I found it most helpful.
Im sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with her.
That is the first ive heard of a negative experience with her.
Hi Guys, I have to run out of town for a day, but I'll check in about this tomorrow. Don't feel bad, Kathy. It seems that we've all been there, done that. I'm glad you are getting your money back. Sue seems very nice, but she is selling infested cuttings, which she knows about and which is wrong. Michael gave you a good list of eBay sellers, and I emailed you with some more names. My only comment about Michael's list is that Happylei sells healthy cuttings, but they are misnamed. I've never purchased from lilamalai. The best sellers on eBay, in my opinion, are 4miss, HawaiiSandy, ncasselberryfla, and frangipaniheaven. Gotta run!
Hi Kathy, I had a minute to read through this thread again. It sounds like you got it all worked out. I'm going to leave positive feedback because she was so nice and apologetic and refunded my money promptly, but I am going to mention the infestation at the same time. A few others that I know had the very same problem. If you go to Maui Plumeria Gardens Forum and do a search for "Sue70," you will come across some comments from the members there about her and her cuttings. Most people there just "wrote off" the experience as a cheap learning lesson since it was only $10 or $15 bucks. I too wish there had been an indication of this before I purchased, but obviously, I wouldn't have, but it did reinforce what I already knew which is: don't buy plumerias from being who don't have a good reputation in the plumeria community.
Thanks clare,
I understand the possitive feedback thing, She was a very understanding lady to me too.
kathy
Clare,
I have been reading the comments about Sue - I now am abit concerned. I bought plants from her this year. How would I know if it had the grubs you are talking about?
I did have a problem with her - what I paid for was NOT what she sent. I sent an e-mail and asked for a refund. She was nice but wanted to send me another. The next plant she sent was squished into a cardboard box that was way too small. I opened up the box and two of the three branches were broken off. I never did e-mail her about that - just did not buy from her again. She put in a couple of small cuttings, which I did root. The plants look OK to me - but what do I know.
Please tell me what to look for.
Shirley
That's a good question Shirley. I'm really sorry, seems everybody gets taken from this lady.
Kathy Ann,
If you can wait till next spring I will send you out some plumies I have tons just sitting around here and I am always willing to share with someone new.
Roger
Buy the way their FREE.
Shirley, the only way to tell if the cuttings have an infestation of the grub is to cut into it and look. The brown dots and trails will be obvious. I, personally, would destroy any plumeria cuttings received from her because you don't want to take a chance that these beetles will become adults and bore into other cuttings and trees, killing them eventually. Frankly, I'm surprised that they rooted for you. Here are some links:

Roger, you are such a sweetheart and so very generous.
Aint he tho?
;) You da man Rog..
Thanks so much Roger, I have decided to wait till spring, as I don't know that I could root it now with the weather changing so much. didn;t want to take a chance on throwing money out the window. LOL. Thanks so much for your offer. I'll have tons to trade then. I'll have to make a mental note, as my memory is fading fast. Is there such a thing as alsymers(spelling) at age 40? LOL
kathy
Hey, Kathy...if you 're interested....I have some 'seedling' plants from Plumeria 'Duke' seeds grown this year....they're about 10 or so inches tall.
I hate to get rid of them, but I really don't have a sunny spot for them this winter, so I think I'll keep just one.
Dmail me if you're interested.
Clare,
Thank you so much for the links - that is a really nasty looking bug!
I ended up with two rooted plants and three cuttings from her. I will check them - now that I know what I should be looking for.
Shirley
I'm new to the forum and to plumerias. I too almost fell to the lure of cheap plumies on ebay, but just didn't get around to it. Boy am I glad! However, always the cheapscape, I'll be getting some cuttings from a Hawiian Swap Meet this week. Should I be worried? Has anyone heard of bugs from Hawaii? Thanks!
Hi Shubunkin, I have no ideas, but welcome, hopefully someone will comealong and answer your question. I have a step sister in Escondido Cool!
kathy
Shubunkin, there are lots and lots of bugs in Hawaii, and I hear KoKo Crater has gone downhill because of all the beetle problems. Will you be in Hawaii this week? Just examine them closely and look for firm, hard, green wood. If you see any with soft spots or wrinkles or holes in them or any discoloration, run!
Shubunkin, not all of us Ebay plumeria folks are bad. :)
Shubunkin,
Welcome to the forum! The ebay plant I bought from Sue was not a cheap one. I paid about $75 for the orriginal plant - it was a large one. I bought quite a few very nice plants this year from sellers on ebay - including several from Brad. I will say that I was at least 90% pleased with all of my plants this year that I bought from ebay sellers. You just have to watch and be careful who you buy from.
Shirley
Brad, you are among the best! Brad and Miss and Sandy are the only people that I will buy from now on eBay. There are other good ones too like Paula and 1000blooms among others. Shirley is right that you just have to be careful and read feedback and talk to your friends before bidding.
Wow!! Thanks you guys! So is it likely that bugs/ disease on the inside will be apparent on the outside? Always? Sometimes? While I'm at it--here's another question. I'm hoping to attempt to root these cuttings in my poolbath over winter. My plan is to use a heating pad and some kind of fluorescent lighting placed a coupla inches over their little bald heads. Whadda think??? Need more light? What kind of light?? Am I nuts? The pool bath will be warmish-- not hot. Thanks in advance.
