Saving AV seed

Loveland, CO(Zone 5b)

I know I *could* put this in the seed-saving forum... but I'd like to try here first.

Can you guys direct me to a good tutorial online about saving AV seed? I would like to try... I know they might not come true, and I'm fine with that... I just love growing from seed, and would like to try to utilize this source of it... since it's free! :) I have lots of blooms right now... :)

Do I need to hand-pollinate them? I know how to do this, as I do it with my lemon tree when it's indoors. Or are they self pollinators...? Then how do I harvest? See... I need a lot of help! :)

Thanks in advance!

yep, they have to be hand pollinated. There are some good instructions on this page. http://rachelsreflections.com/hybridizing.htm

Thanks, Keyring...

Ok, so if I dont care about hybridizing, can I just use the pollen and flower from a single plant?

Like, can one bloom of Salmon Ella pollinate another bloom of Salmon Ella? On the same plant?

I've never done AV pollinating, but from what I hear, yes you can self.
However, some hybrids do not have viable pollen, and some are missing "parts" etc. I would try pollinating as many as possible and see what happens.
On my other gessies, I use tiny price tags to mark the ones that I pollinated. (Tags like these - can be hand made, of course http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=20745&cmArea=SEARCH)

Many thanks, Kr...

Consider me temporarily "out of the office" while I pollinate to my blooms' content :)
