Just want to bump this in the event that someone might have some cuttings rather than throwing them out. Many thanks!

I have a few that I cut to put in a vase on my kitchen table and I just noticed they are starting to grow roots. There are several varieties and I don't remember the names but I could post a picture tomorrow if you are interested. a

Sounds great! I'd love to see them, Thanks so much!

OK, Here goes....
These are all cane types. There are 3 different varieties in the jar. The 2 darker ones have red on the backs of their leaves.

I also have 2 pitiful, but named, rhizo's in pots - pictures in next posts. They were under the shrubbery for the summer and I am afraid I forgot about them (please don't send the plant police after me). They would need lots of TLC to look good again but if you are interested you could have them.

This one is Big Boy and he normally has huge leaves. The poor guy is tired and hungry.

The three in the jar all originally came from Logee's. Perhaps their pictures are on the web site. The two in pots were from Parks Seeds.

Ardesia, you have DMail.

Hi Begonia Crazy: If you don't already have this....I have some of the old heirloom hardy begonia. I love to share it because heirlooms need to be planted and shared and cherished so they don't die out. Would you like some?

tho-se hardy heirlooms are wonderful plants! i took several dozen pots of them to a recent plant swap and they were scooped-up within minutes. they multiply quickly and form impressive stands that look beautiful no matter what the season brings.

i have an angel-wing (cane) begonia - do not know the name - it has deep green leaves with silver spots and masses of bright coral blooms. i've already shared some fall cuttings with friends, and would be happy to send you some canes for postage. they root SO easily in water. i use mine as a houseplant in winter - blooms readily indoors; in the spring, i set it out to add that wonderful splash of color to a mostly-shady bed of hostas & ferns.

Thanks Thrip, the b. grandis bulbs arrived safe and sound. Going to put them in some kind of winter storage, I'm guessing they will be like b. tuberhybrida and need some storage until they start to show signs of life. Thanks again!

Hi Lali: Glad they made it safely. I am not sure what to advise you to do with those bulbs during the winter. I am in zone 7b and never dig mine. They have been here forever! But maybe when they are small they might not survive as well as a big established patch. Also it kind of rainy in some parts of NCA in the winter. So...I think you are right. Store till spring, or else pot up a grow them. Hope they do well for you.

Robin
