Ok I can't take all the credit for this blooming. I must confess when I received it on Wednesday from the hoya pimp, I mean Carol, it had an un-opened bloom on it. I even re-potted it and when I went to the greenhouse this morning, it had bloomed!! I'm sure it's this wonderful Arizona fall weather we're having. Because I'm a "Preacher's Wife" I'm going to make this offer, if anyone wants their hoya(s) to bloom, just send em to me. I know it's awfully nice of me to make this offer, but hey if I can't help out a hoya-addict, who can I help???
Blessings,
Awanda
Hoya finlaysonii X H.incrassata blooms
Awanda:
Ohhh how PRETTY! Smell good too? If you're a "Preacher's Wife" why didn't you just offer to say PRAYERS for those of us waiting (and waiting and waaaiiiting) for our hoyas to bloom? Sounds to me like you're trying to pull a fast one. (grin) Just teasin!
Now that is the way to bloom Hoyas, Awanda. I guess you want us to make sure to send you only Hoyas that have mature flower buds, right?
BetsyJ, it just doesn't work as well, I'll need the hoya "here" to actually have them flowa:-).
Mel because I am such a "nice" person, I'll take rooted cuttings too, of course it'll be more work for me, but hey, you all are worth it:-). Good thing tomorrow's Sunday, I'll have a lot of "forgiveness" to pray for:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Gee, Awanda...you sure that's a hybrid? Looks like another H. pottsii dawg to me...grin. (just joking...).
Well...MOST hoyas blast their umbels in the box....so glad yours didn't!!!! and the leaves are gorgeous too!!
Very beautiful, what´s the scent? :)

Is that the cv. 'Jennifer'? (Too lazy to look it up.)
I found a peduncle in my Jennifer a couple of days ago and my plant is still quite small...
I was just thinking, are all cv-hoyas easy bloomers? My 'Christine' bloomed early, soon (hopefully!) 'Jennifer' too, Rositas 'Sunrise' and 'Christine' has bloomed...
Christina
Not cv. Jennifer...but one of her sisters, from the same cross and the same grex. This one hasn't a name...
Beautiful flowa Awanda. I have some confessing to do, the only hoyas I've got to flower are the ones the hoya pimp sent me with buds on them!
Heather
Should I make a list of those with peduncles?
Dearest Pimp (you know who you are).
Of course you should make a list of those with peduncles!
Speaking of getting peduncles from the Pimp, my glorious H. siariae cutting (which came with said peduncle) is forming buds right this very minute!!!! I just hope in my fussing over it I am not so "kind" that it winds up blasting the buds (which I am famous in my own world for doing).
Miss Piggy
My lasiantha (from said pimp) came with THREE peduncles and one FLOWER! It has grown 2 new little leaves and buds are forming again. Gotta love that pimp! :-)
Marcy
Dear Marcy, I am feeling jealous! You lucky woman, are you gonna post some pictures of the flowers?
I'm laughing! The "Hoya PIMP"!! hahahahahaha You all are a rough crowd! ha ha My sister calls ME her "Plant Pusher".
Dear BetsyJ.
I suspect you have earned that title!!!
Of course if one must be a pimp or a pusher, I think hoyas (or any plants) are quite a healthy addiction to hook people on. I know I came willingly.
Someday, I hope to have large enough plants that I too can be a pimp/pusher (or, at least get a few more people "hooked").
Ann
Hey, little girl...wanna see my plants?
la pimpette
La Pimpette..
Yes, I DOOOOOO want to see your plants! I do I do I doooo!
=0)
...and yeah, MsKitty ~~ I guess I DO deserve that title. (sheepish grin)
Yes, I guess "pusher" or "dealer" I guess would really be more like it, as these darn things are sooooo addicting they are like drugs. Ha.
I guess I am into "dealing" now too, because a gal on the epi-forum I visit is now addicted also after I did a trade with her & sent her some hoya cuttings. Then she refered another gal to me with hoya questions, & NOW SHE is wanting some more too. So, one must be careful when trading these things....first thing ya know...another helpless victom. Ha.
