Bonnie,

I am such a newbie at this I would have no clue how to get a seed.

This plant is now over 13' tall.

See photo.

Nope--I'm wrong but I still love it! I will have to check back and see if anyone identifies it! Bonnie

There are some possibilities. Looking at the bush, a dense one, it would be Hibiscus archerii, not a H. rosa sinensis but similar to it. According to the picture it also could be Hibiscus andersonii or a tropical variety called "Psyche".

As for collecting seed--after a blossom falls off you should start to see a small green pod like thing starting to grow. This should get larger and larger until it is tan or brown and possibly even pops open on its own. Whatever this one is probably will have small, round, black seeds. Bonnie
