I found some info in the weather forum, but since MsC is such a big part of this forum and on the gulf coast of Texas I thought I'd post here, too. Here's the thread where I found MsC's post: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/546588/.
MsC, just wanted you to know that we're thinking of you and you're in our prayers!!

Thoughts and Prayers for MsC
yup, absolutely.
Who else is in the hurricane's path? I don't know Texas very well, but I know Susanne mentioned it and I saw that Donna is also. (Sorry I didn't mention all you before, too! I just thought of MsCritter since her area says gulf coast.)
Thinking of all of you and hoping you, your loved ones, and your plants are all doing fine after the storm!
I think Susanne is quite a ways inland.
I haven't seen an update from DonnaB in a while so I hope the insurance co has been able to respond etc.
Patti Rose318 in Houston checked in over in the weather forum. Looks like she made it through - some damage, no water but she does have electricity. But she posted that she is in Clear Lake.
Wow, I can't even imagine what it would be like in a hurricane. (We just have earthquakes and volcanoes over here.) Glad to hear that so far our AV buddies are okay!
Hi Keyring and Danak,
I spoke to MsC she is doing fine. Thanks for you thought and prayers. We are truly blessed.
Thanks again,
Patti
Just a note to let you all know MsC,DH & The ZooCrew SURVIVED the Rita storm in good shape thanks to some wonderful fellow DGers & great friends.
We are totally exhausted from packing, unpacking and repacking!! Pacing, worrying and planning and then re-planning an escape from the storm .
It has been a hectic & horrible week with the threat of the storm .
We finally made it back to our "Home Sweet Home" yesterday late in the afternoon. We had a lovely stay with a fellow DGer :Trois & his family. We had very lil damage mostly broken tree branches and a few destroyed plants. Nothing I can't live with for sure! I have a safe home and all my animals are a live and fine! Hubby and I are alive and well, too.
If the storm had hit the original expected landfall area, my area, the storm would have wiped us & our beloved ZooCrew off the face of the earth...a very scary week to endure.
We are so grateful to Trois & his family for their gracious invitation to unconditionally house us and The ZooCrew . We are also very grateful for all the prayers & concern from everyone here at DG's.
More later as I recoup,
Love & Hugs,
MsC/Lottie
ahhh that's good news :-)
you have a bit of catching up to do... later after the R&R.
MsCritter:
SO glad to hear you road it out safely with minimal damage. Since you are the first person I "met" on DG, I've been worried about you.
Take good care of you and yours.
I have a brother in New Iberia ~ was worried about him & his family as well but they came through okay too!
Betsy
We are so greatful everyone is OK. Our prayers were continually with you all.
Nanna
Great news, MsC! You are the first person I "met" here on DG also. :) That combined with your location as "gulf coast" (I'm not familiar with Texas, but that I can decifer!) had my quite concerned, too. I'm so glad to hear that everyone is okay!!

Thanks Danak,
I've been busy today trying very hard to put everyone & everything back in it's place. It looks more like the house in side was hit by a tornado than not....lol.
We were in the middle of some renovations when all this came about and so it was a pretty big mess anyway but now it's really aweful!
The animals were all glad to get home and run free and the cat finally came back inside to eat. I figured I wouldn't see her for weeks after being crated for several days... she forgave me & sleep with me so all is well. The dogs all did very well and were real troopers.
Capt.Jack the African Grey learned a new word- "HOME SWEET HOME"... he was not impressed with his small travel cage either but all in all the ZooCrew faired very well. I learned ALOT and will be making a few changes for the next scare.:)
The African Violets did just fine and I even had a bloom or two to welcome me home:). Two new ones arrived in this mornings mail unaffected by it all.
Again many thanks to all who sat on the side and prayed and worried right with us. It does mean more than you can imagine.
MsC
You are amazing. We love you!!!!!
Nanna
Thanks Nanna !
Hope everyone's violets are blooming up a storm while I'm away.
A few more days of steady work and the house may look livable, again??? Ok, well it will at least look like it did before the evacuation...lol
Thanks for all your well wishes, I sure miss being here but I gotta get my home in order or I won't have a place for anymore violets...
Hugs to all
MsC
