Red Tropical Hibiscus - fear of bud drop - help me stop it!

Alden, NY(Zone 5b)

So, I live in western New York, and have had this pretty little hibiscus tree for three years now. It never really did bloom much, I supposed that this was because it was so small at the time. I overwinter it indoors in front of my south facing sliding glass doors on a pebble tray.

It is beginning to get cold up here, we are looking at the lows in the 40's in a few days. I really want to bring this in now, but there is 31.....yes, 31 buds in varying stages on the plant. I'm afraid if I bring it in, the buds will drop.

Should I bring it in?
Should I drape a sheet over it?

I really don't want to lose the buds...early this summer, it got a little over 20 buds, but I would love to see this flower for the next month with the 31 buds!

What should I do?

I have all mine outside still and last nite it was in the upper 30's
I'm gunna start working on bringing them in

If you are that worried about the buds dropping take it outside durring the day and bring it in at nite

Just to follow-up on this thread for those interested:

I brought the hibiscus in the first week of October, and only a few of the very, very young buds turned yellow and dropped. The rest remained and have been blooming one after another since! I am so happy!
