I've been waiting all summer for this one to bloom. Finally a single bloom opened Wednesday night and was pure white. It was very pretty, but not pink. My first thought was that the Seller had sent me the wrong brug. Much to my dismay, yesterday she had turned pink, but the bloom is really not that big or that dark. I waited until today to take a picture to see if she darkened. She really is no darker than yesterday, so my question is, "Is this Suzanne?"
Is this Susanne?
Hard to tell from that photo Sylvia. Looks generally like the right shape.
Brugs bloom differently everytime they bloom for me. Few are real consistent. Maybe Rosamond, sh euis very pale everytime. LOL.
I think they really change with the heat, humidity and time of year and probably what you feed them.
I believe it was Mary who posted pics of Susanne being such an incredibly dark pink. She has so much humidity there. I have little. Susanne was much darker for me midsummer than now.
As far as size, your plant is so small yet. Susanne is a very big bloom. Wait till next year midsummer to evaluate her when your plant has grown to a better size.
Also the first blooms can be off. Why I do not know.
Thanks for the info, Kell. I've been terrible about fertilzing this year, so maybe she is just anemic. lol
Kell, my MM is that color too and it's hot here!
Several of mine that are supposed to be, or have been very dark are just pale right now. It's in the 90's, high humidity, 70's at night. But the best color I've had in the past is high in the 70;s 80's with nights in the 50's or so. Hopefully that is still ahead of me. It could just jump into winter.
Mine (Mountain Magic) open and are light pink the first day only, but after that they get very dark. These blooms probably had a couple of days to go yet before dropping. Each day they get darker. We had a really hot summer this year. I find that this one prefers to be in half day shade to get her best color. Preferably the afternoon being the shady part of the day.
My Susanne doesn't get as dark as MM, but she is a bigger bloom.

Hey, Shirley, glad to see you posting. That must mean you are feeling better. Sure hope you are well on the way to recovery.
Thanks for the picture, Monika. I this my brug is Susanne. Does your open pure white the first day?
Whatever it is, it's pretty. Ain't it great to have some blooms.
minniegrannie, Susanne opens White to change color within a day. She turns in to the final color after two days. The blooms do hold up well in the weather.
Then mine must be Susanne. I've never had another brug open this pure white to turn pink the next day. All my other pinks open pink from the beginning. Thanks for the info.
