I have about 10 huge Tropicanna (Phasion) canna rhizomes to trade for zone 8 perennials.
Thanks,
CLOSED: HAVE TROPICANNA CANNA
hello flowerjunkie,
I was trying to find your tropicanna in the plant files and couldn't locate it. I would love to see a pic! I don't have much to trade, but I do have some tall bearded iris that are pretty. Perhaps you might like a couple Daydream tulips? I just ordered some from Brecks and I could send them when I get them. Let me know if you are interested. Cindy
Pixie, those iris were here when I bought the place, although I relocated them to a new location. When I added a porch and a carport they were no longer in the sun and they had to move. I have spent lots of time in the plant files trying to identify them, and the closest pic I found was Rose Garland 1954 (or something close to that). Let me know if you think I'm right on that, ok?
I compared our photos close up and they are definitely the same iris. But I don't think they are Rose Garland, ours have a striking difference in color between the top petals and the bottom ones. And the color is darker than Rose Garland.
Wonder what happened to Flowerjunkie? Is she close to the hurricane area? I'm going to check a map. Still wanting to trade for those cannas!
wow - those are pretty! thanks for posting pics. Anyone heard from flowerjunkie?
I just looked up Cypress, TX on mapquest and it is in the northeast corner of Texas, very close to the Louisiana border. Looks like the hurricane is due south of them. I am saying prayers for them now!
flowerjunkie lives in Cypress TX, which a bedroom community NW of houston. she has probably lost power due to hurricane. I'm sure she'll ck in and I pray it will be w/ good news.
Hi All,
Thank you so much for your prayers. It was a very close call. We had winds of 65-70 MPH here. Trees and tree limbs down and lost power. We got power back last night. Thank God there was no damage to any of the houses in my neighborhood. I was worried about flooding but got very little rain with the winds.
I have so much yard clean up to do that I really don't have time for trading right now and need to get these cannas rhizomes to a good home. They were dug and cleaned the day of this post and I don't want to put them back in the ground.

If you are interested I have 2 rhizomes for each of you that I will send out for postage. But please make this easy on me. Send your return address label and a priority mail stamp of $3.85 to my address. I have priority mail boxes so don't worry about that.

Thank you Daisy. The postage will go out tomorrow. And the label. Susan
Thank you Daisy, that's so nice of you. I will send postage and label to you tomorrow.
Hi Daisy! I received the cannas today. They look very nice and healthy. Now I am not sure how to handle them. We were 90 something today and we are now 58 heading toward 49. So for sure they shouldn't be planted outside. I guess I will get them ready for storage for winter. Darn, I am already ready for spring again. LOL
Daisy, I received my package at the post office last night! Thanks so much - they will be in their new bed tomorrow - whenever it stops raining!!!
