Kell sent me some Mixed Pink Brugmansia seeds last winter. Late in January I put them in rockwool then planted them in pots and about June planted them out in the yard. Well they grew about six foot tall and are now beginning to bloom. This is one of the blooms. I think it is lovely. Thanks Kell. Jenny
Kell's seeds
It's a beautiful bloom.
Lovely, Jenny! Do you remember who the parents are?
Mary
Ohhh, Super!! I think Kell would call her a "girlie, girl" brug. VERY pretty - congrats Jenny and Kell.
Very pretty.
Mary, I don't know the parents. It was a mixed package which said Butterfly, Rosamond, Pinkmond, L'Amour, Ecuador Pink, Rothkirch. Jenny
Simply stunning! Congrats Kell and Jenny!
Very pretty !!
You're so fortunate to be growing out some of Kell's Brug seeds. Your pink Brug is lovely! Congratulations to both of you!!
Ah, some of my favorite pinks for parents. Very nice. Congratulations to both of you.
Jenny,
It's beautiful. I thought, "Oh, what a lovely little flower with such long tendrils", until I enlarged the photo and saw the comparison to the hand in the background. Pardon me, while I go wipe up the drool.
Thanks for posting them Jenny and letting me see them. I like them both a lot. I have been harvesting lots of seeds this year so I can send you more if you like.
You are doing so much better than I am. Mine are all still so small. I don't know what I have been doing all summer. I didn't really take care of them till about July and they just didn't grow. I sent out lots of Red seeds also, and would really like to see if they are real dark. Especially the GL X Red if anyone has them.
Kell, can I get down and beg for some seeds of yours to grow out? I get my drool bucket out each time I see your beauties!!!

That was the first time I had ever grown brugs from seeds, but I was overwhelmed since almost every one of them germinated and I had about 70 plants to deal with. So needless to say I did give away a few pots that were being neglected. None of the plants has gotten the care they deserve. That was why I was so amazed when I saw these two. I do have soaker hoses near them which I turn on every other day. The heat and humidity here it East Texas is very hard on my plants. Many of the brugs that get full sun all day are just way too stressed. This has taught me that they must have evening shade here as all of the brugs that receive full day sun just are not growing or blooming like the ones in evening shade. Needless to say I don't have too very many "great" places for brugs. This coming year I am downsizing for sure as I have run myself ragged keeping up with all I planted. Maybe in a few years when I retire I'll try the seeds again. Thanks again Kell for the lovely plants. I do intend to keep one each of all the special ones. I'll let you know if any of the others bloom with dark colors. Jenny
this is beautiful kell has such great Brugs.
kell I need that RED one *LOL*
LOL Jenny, 70 seedlings. You sound like me but I see you have much more common sense than I have. When confronted with the same logistical problems of caring for so many, I went out and planted more.
I have a friend in Texas who has lots of my seedling too. She said all summer it was such a struggle to keep them alive in the extreme heat and the bugs just drove her nuts. Now that it is cooling down, they are all setting buds and some are blooming. She ended her conversation with plans to start another brug bed. LOL. I think they get so pretty at the end of the growing season just so we will get suckered in again for the next year.
You got that right Kell about 6 weeks ago I was ready to throw in the towel and give up, since then I have had flush after flust and I am desperatly trying to see what I can save and what will have to let go. I am going to have another busy, busy winter
