Ok you asked for it, you've got it!! Here are pictures of my hoyas, grown in the hot Arizona Desert:-). This one is in the greenhouse.

Growin Hoyas in the desert
Awanda, that is awesome! Which ones do you keep in the house? Also wondering which ones you keep in the little greenhouses. Beautiful!
Heather
AHHHH Awanda, your growing areas look fabulous! Plants are so healthy and happy, but, no wonder when considering their caregiver.
I see you saved room for a chair in the middle of your greenhouse. I guess you kept the porta potty out of the picture tho. I am thinking that soon Arizona will be renamed the Hoya state!
Well heck Awanda.. I don't know why I am even wasting my time at HD. Where abouts are you located? I figure I can be there and back in 3 hours. I promise I will leave money at the door.. Very nice.
Wow...Awanda, Your hoyas a really lucky to have you. You have the ultimate hoya operation there.
Maybe we should drive our suv's and meet somewhere half way.
Awanda,...thanks for the tour...i love the mini greenhouses inside.....your hoyas look great.....
Sandy
Heather I usually keep newly acquired hoyas and hoyas I want to keep an eye on in the mini greenhouses. I also keep all of my eriostemmas inside during the winter months.
Tami, I'm sure 3 hours is too far to drive:-)...yeah right, I have a sign that says "will drive for hoyas".
Mel can you see the plant stand you sent me in the "kitchen nook" picture? Probably not, because it's full of hoyas:-). I couldn't talk hubby into a porta potty....yet:-)
Ric what state is halfway between Arizona and Florida:-).
Sandy you're more than welcome for the tour:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Um, I think Minnesota could be halfway! Humor me, please!
Heather
LOL !! How about NC?? WoW, the green house outside and in is beautiful! Great job with your hoyas. They lookj so healthy and lush.
Just beautiful Awanda! I remember when the local paper did a write-up on you and your hoya business. It was so neat to see you and your hoyas in the paper.
It looks as if you may need another greenhouse soon. I guess Mel was right, no mater how big of one you get....you will fill it up much too fast and wish you had more room.
I love your household windows too. It's so neat to see all these other's windows and know I'm so not alone in this obsession. Ha.
Marcy
PS: I have to do some "window cleaning" before I can take any pics. around in here. That Eleanors may be good for the plants, but sure does a number on the windows. Ha.
Heather and Horsewoman I think there is a "scenic" route that goes through Minnesota via North Carolina:-), yep I could just pick you guys up and head on to Florida! Marcy windows was one of the things we prayed for in a house, and boy did we get them, all 21!! A slightly bigger greenhouse (8x12) is on the horizon. When I think about when I first started collecting hoyas and where I am now, I'm happy my hubby doesn't know about it:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Awanda, I think Louisiana is the half way point, but we should stay away until the hurricane season is over. The scenic route does sound nice. Make sure you get the u-haul with a sun roof and the built in misters.
OH, do they make uhauls with sun roofs and built in misters?? LOL I bet ya got to pay extra for that!! LOL I wonder if they supply plant racks too?? I will put in an order for one.
I'm new to this site, but I want to tag along on this hoya tour - GREAT looking hoyas!! I have a few - and am obtaining more - your pictures were great inspiration!

kabob you're more than welcome for the tour. I normally only give tours on weekend:-), but this is such a nice group of people, I couldn't resist:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
If the Hoya bus is going to North Carolina, it best stop in Tennessee! And, you are right Awanda. I could not see the plant stand for all the plants.
Is Oregon a half-way point?
Boy you all must be looking at a different map than I am:-). But now that you mention it Ann, when I was in school, Oregon was a half way point to Florida. II always knew that teacher didn't know what he was talking about:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Look everyone, I'm willing to compromise here, I can definitely fly to Ten, NC, whatever, as long as someone picks me up from somewhere I'm in!! Lol!!!
Heather
Awanda, your home, greenhouse and plants all look very lovely!! Great job! When did you start with hoyas? Any idea how many you have now?
BTW everyone, don't leave me out of the tour! I'm just a little west of Mel so you can fit me in okay?
Susan you were there when I first started to collect hoyas, "we've come a long way baby":-).
Sharon sure we can stop and pick you up, the more the merrier. I'll tell you how many I have if you don't tell my hubby, good thing to him, hoyas all look alike:-). I probably have 300, and still wanting more:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Awanda, Mike (my hubby) pretty much thinks the same about Hoyas all looking a like. The only time he got a tiny bit interested was when we went to visit Ted G., and Mike kept asking me if I had different plants. I kept saying "yes" I have that one. After that, they just being all the same plant all through the house again.
You are going to need that greenhouse very soon the way your plants are growing. I don't know how you manage so many plants now, you are doing a terrific job.
"Wanting more" I think is just a term we hoya lovers will always say. I can't imagine saying "I have enough". Deb
On your way from Minnesota to North Carolina, you could pass through Illinois then to Tenn. Would make a great road trip. :)
So......which way are you coming to Hawaii? From the south with all the Hurricanes or from the North? From the East is best...just stop when you hit the rocks!!!
Carol
Maybe I can get rid of DH for a week and have a ladies/girls hoya camp!!! Eat, drink, smell and laugh!!!
Carol - I'd sign up for the camp! LOL Karen
