Hi! I'm a Newbie Here Too ;)

Midway, TX(Zone 8b)

I just joined the garden forum a few weeks ago. I live on the edge of East Texas in Madison County and my passion is gardening. I haven't gardened all that long and I still learn new things all the time. I'm anxious to meet everyone and enjoy exchanging ideas and plans about gardening. I also love bird watching! We have lots and lots of different kinds of birds here and I keep them all fed well. ;) We have lots of bluebirds that we're so proud of.
My name is Linda but I go by Lin.

Hi Pedi and thanks for the warm welcome! I've never been to San Benito, Tx. but I have a good friend that is from there.
We are very hot and humid most of the time too! Ugh! In fact today will be up to 98 deg. and very humid. And here we are in the middle of Sept. and still scorching hot. I'm ready for some cooler weather. ;) I've already been outside this am watering everything and setting the sprinklers. It is so dry here now that we have to water everything. I've still got tomatoes going so I water them at least every other day.

Hi Lin, a big welcome from Ky.

Yes Lin, I can relate to the hot temps and humidity. I just planted two tomato plants yesterday. Told hubby, I am wanting green fried tomatoes. LOL. I have to water my sweet potato vines every day unless it is actually raining. Good to have you here.

Georgetown, TX

Hi Lin!

I am also from Texas - Georgetown right outside of Austin. I landscape for a living so I can tell all you folks about hot! Last week we broke all records - 110 degrees! Since I am a full time gardner - I guess I am more accustomed to the heat but this summer has been exceptionally hot! Lin - gardening is about experimentation and thinking outside the box! Just use your imagination and treat you plants with TLC and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish!
