Have olympicum mullein seed

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I am looking for crepe myrtle seed in the form of a tree or shrub. If you want these and have some other interesting large specimen type plant seed I would also trade these seed for that.
The mullein has very large fuzzy basal growth followed by a tall stalk with yellow flowers. Much prettier than the wild mulleins. The picture is of one plant before the stalk was sent up.
I would really like a dark red color crepe myrtle or if not that something besides the medium pink I am now growing.

Hi Windy! I will have crepe myrtle dynamite in about a month. It is loaded with seeds but they are still green and have not dried out at all yet.

I kind of wonder if that isn't what I call that pretty weedy thing that grows in my yard that I won't let DH get rid of. I think it is kind of pretty, so sure I would be glad to trade for it. It's seeds I mean. Are the seeds big or small?

Oh, you might want a picture. This is the first year for it to bloom, just set it out last fall.

I have never grown a crepe myrtle from seed, so I have no idea what to expect.

Yes, the seeds are very tiny. I also grow the "weed" one that you are referring to. It is all over the place.
But I bought the seeds for the one I am offering at Chiltern seed last year. Some of the leaves were three feet long by the time it started to send up a stalk for flowering. It is much prettier than the common one and a lot fuzzier.
Crepe myrtle is very easy to grow from seed. You wait until the seed pods are brown and start to split open. Mine are not ripe yet either. You have to wait pretty late in the season for them to ripen. Make sure you get them before the wind sends them flying. LOL
My husband has some more pictures on his computer and I will try to get them off of his tomorrow and show you.
I will remind you in a month or so when your seeds ripen. I will set aside a good amount for you also.

I have Lilac Chaste Tree if you would like to trade. The seeds are still on the plant, their not dry yet. I would really like some of your seeds.
