Fall bulbs for the rock garden

St. John's, NL(Zone 5b)

It's been quite quiet on this forum lately. Thought I'd share the latest alpines in my garden. Most are fall-flowering bulbs that are just starting. This is perhaps the best autumn crocus; Colchicum agrippinum. Most have large floppy leaves in spring but this one has relatively small leaves that are an interesting grey-green colour.

This is Cyclamen hederifolium 'Album'

This one is not a bulb. It's a relative of campanula called Cyananthus lobatus...it was a new purchase from Beaver Creek Greenhouses this past spring.

The last one for this week is Trachelium jacquinii, another Campanula relative. The plant is just 6" tall and at its peak of bloom right now.

Thanks Todd! Not much blooming in my rock gardens. I did notice that one of
my cyclamen hederafolia was blooming! I planted a number of them under my
dogwood trees but apparently its too dry there. but at least one bloomed!

Oh I do have something new! But I lost the label so if no one here figures
it out, I'll post on the identification forum. The flowers are quite dainty (as is
the whole vine).

Looks like Clematis viorna or a close species. Collect seed please! I'd love some if they ripen.

Todd, I believe you are correct! The pic's look right and that name is so familiar.

I'll certainly try to collect seeds for you! There are only four blooms so far. If no seeds,
maybe I can get a cutting to take next spring.

Thank you!
Tam
