A cause for concern?

Hi all!

I received this well-rooted cutting about 2 or 3 weeks ago. She's a Golden Lady, and had lost most of her leaves during her postal trip. You can see that she has sprouted many leaves, even several right down at soil level, so I'm not concerned about that.

What does worry me is that the top of the main trunk is turning brown. I'm assuming it is a result of shock, but wanted to check and be sure. I'm prepared to lop it off, but wanted to check first and make sure that's the right thing to do. I've looked at all the pictures of SB, and, in my newbie opinion, I don't think it looks like that, but I certainly wanted a better opinion than my own.

Thanks so much!

RainGazer, you dont have to worry. The top has dried off. It is going to stop right above the young sprout.

Oh, thank you so much Monika! That's just what I wanted to hear! Do I cut that off or just leave it?

You may cut it off at appr. 1/2 inch above the new sprout. The rest will drop off later.

I'll do that. Thank you again for your help! :o)
