Roselle Hibiscus, I cannot believe it's as tall as the opening of the barn. I have no idea how tall that is, maybe l3 feet. No flowers showing on this hibiscus. and It's been transplanted once when it was about 6 feet tall, the wind kept knocking it over so I potted it up, and set it by the barn, and Tied it to the barn. That's the only way I could keep it standing. And to think i'm gonna have to bring this into the greenhouse if I want seeds, cause it's not even showing signs of blooms yet.
Is this going to stop growing soon
Kathy_ann I have Jungle Red Hibiscus and it is doing the same thing. It has grown so tall and it is so bushy every time there is the slightest of a wind they are lying on the ground. Also no sign of blooming at all. I have about 6 of them. I started them from seed last winter and ended up with 12 all together and did give away 6 of them. Don't know what I am going to do with them come winter. I can't keep them all but would like to keep 1, just in case they don't bloom there 1st year, but will the second. I do love the foliage, reminds me of red maple leaves. But I would love the flowers as well.
Yours is very pretty and a lot taller then mine.

I think that it is pretty hard to get flowers from these, I have been growing one myself for two years and it did not show any blooming sign, even with our last summer which was uncommonly hot (I am northern to you though).
It is simple to get cuttings to root, in a glass of water or the regular way (rooting hormones, substratum, in a bag to keep moisture level high). You will be able to save so much space that way.

oh Darn, I really wanted flowers for seeds. But as it's growing now, I'd not be able to get to them, unless I went to the top of the barn LOL.
Ha! I didn't realize I gave you some LOL cool
