Today I inspected my plants to see when I can start cutting, well most are in bloom and I discovered I have 8 seed pods, so, how long do they take to mature, and if I hafta cut the brugs down befor cold weather will they survive if I plant the cutting in soil.
Seed Pods, now what LOL
PLEASE someone answer.
You can root those cuttings that have seed pods. I've only done it twice but both times it worked. It took about 3 months for one pod to mature and about 4 for the other one. I just rooted the cuttings in soil like normal. :)
Thank you I was hoping that is what someone would tell me one is quite large the rest are small
I just checked again and I have a seed pod on Golden Lady that I pollinated with Isobella, if it ripens I wonder what plant I will get.
WOW Doris. You are so hot. LOL. GL is a great Mom. I have gotten lots of fun brugs from her. Doubles too!!
I have not had luck keeping a pod on a cutting. Maybe if the pod is far enough along it will be OK. Mine just shriveled and died.
Did you ever get that GH built?
kell the addition to my house for plants is great. mostly glass, and big enough to keep several Brugs as well as do seedlings, I love it, I keep saying NO MORE BRUGS and here I am trying to nurse along seed pods, this is the largest one I have, the other's are very small. Oh how do you know when they are "ripe"
Doris
Thanks again kell, the other pods I have a very small, I doubt if they will last after I cut them down, but no way would they survive outside in the winter, I will cut them, root them and see what happens,
I picked 2 more pods today Doris, so if you want some seeds just holler. I haven't started to package them yet so it will be a few weeks or so.
