My Cutting and Seedling GArden coming alive -

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

My experimental unnamed plant that I called Orange Custard has produced a bountiful garden from cuttings I took. Although they are too much like Eventide, I still like their shrubby growth habit, with blossoms in banana like clusters. Will enjoy them for themselves, but will not try to name a new variety.
I have four of them blooming, now.

The largest plant is about 3 feet:

Here is the second seedling to bloom from the Calas Everlasting/Rosamond plantings - she looks like her daddy !

Here is a blossom from the other seedling - a gorgeous, odiferous keeper that will remain to grow for next year. Two seedlings from the same batch!

It is exciting to see what you get!
Rosamond will be difficult to ever improve a upon - but with her size, shape and this color, this is one for cuttings and to overwinter.

Nice collection Polly, they are all beauties.

Polly,
They are lovely especially the yellow gold orangey ones. I love the yellow Brugs I guess because the color seems to pervade the entire flower not just the corolla.

Here they are still blooming a week later - the so called Orange Custards - actually looking a bit peachier now.

Awesome Polly!
Wonderful Plants. ;)

I rarely come to the brug forum, thanks for sending the link Kell! Those are so pretty Polly. I like the Eventide look alike. If it's tougher than Eventide, I'd say it's a keeper. Eventide blooms so heavy it weakens. Hope the seedling blooms good and is stronger.

Polly and Susie, you have made an awesome team!
The orange custard is an especially beautiful brug.
I love the pictures, so glad you posted them all.

Thanks for posting, I love your Eventide lookalike!

It is so interesting to see your comments on Eventide, Calalily - mine has truly bloomed itself to self destruction.
Because it was in a smaller pot, I thought that was the problem; these cuttings from last years "orange custard" plant are all in the ground, and have not overdone it.
I guess we should advise the ET perpetuators to use a BIG pot.

Here is the profuse Orange Custard plant from a cutting of the above plant:

Another cutting from the same parent plant blooming next to the healthy one above(should I rename it "Peach Custard"?
