I love everyones Brugs...where do you get them?

Chickamauga, GA(Zone 7a)

I am new to gardening even the simplest of flowers.....I love looking at everyones pics of their brugs. I just have to ask where do you get them from? I never see them at places I shop for flowers like lowes or home depot.

I have seen some gowing in the area and seems like they just started blooming here a week or so ago. So where do I buy these? Are they hard to care for? And I am guessing they come back every year right? Thanks for any help or advice!

Welcome to the Forum! Depending on your zone you might be able to overwinter brugs. I know several people in zone 8 have been able to do it. They are tropical so I can't up in Zone 6.

Easy.. well yes and no. THey like lots of water and fertilizer. and if you give it to them you will get nice huge huge plants with lots of flowers. I didn't do that but I still got flowers :)

If you get spider mites they are awful! awful!

Did I mention that they are awful?

Having said all that, it is totally worth it when you get a huge flush or a friend sees your plants for the first time and says.. OMG what is THAT??

I am sure that someone will be offering you a spare cutting here soon. People here just love to get folks started on the path to brug addiction! And this time of year is a good time for cuttings.. Enjoy!

thanks so much for the info everyone! I am guessing they must make it through the winter here since I hve seen them pop up here and there in a few spots.

I have also seen something very similar in white but it is low to the ground almost looks like a type of vine....is it the same kind of flower?

I bet that was a datura. When I first saw one I thought it was a vine too. The most beautiful vine I had ever seen.
WELCOME!!
