can anyone tell me anything about this plant? I bought it small this spring at a mom and pop nursery. I fell in love with it because of the fragrant and delicate foilage...pungent and intoxicating....the label said Canyon Daisey but little other info........it has gotten huge..about 4x4..........still fragrant but still no sign of a bud or bloom
Mystery to me
jackieshar, they are correct....It's a canyon daisy and I've got one. The aroma is a lemony/citrus flavor. The blooms are bright yellow and about 3/4 to 1 inch across. Mine hasn't bloomed since spring.
The addy for the Plant Files is:

Copper Canyon Daisy actually is a fall bloomer, so the show is about to start! (It does sometimes also bloom a little in the spring.) I love mine, and couldn't quite put my finger on the scent. Then I found out that the scent other than lemon is camphor. It's wonderful!
It will die back to the ground over winter, you will want to keep it well mulched up where you are. A hint from the master gardeners here: once it starts growing again in the spring, cut it back by half at the first of every month, cutting it back for the last time in July. That way it will grow many more branches, be much denser, and give you lots more blooms in the fall. I did that only half-heartedly this summer, it is much bushier, but I can see that I should have done as they said. The branches tend to slump over, so now it's like a head with the hair parted down the middle.
:-)
You guys are great! Thanks a bunch
Jackie
My neighbor has that. I'll have to tell him how to cut it back. He has three huge plants, they bloomed last fall and again this spring(stuff gets confused down here, the mist flower blooms in spring too).
Yeah, I had some blooms last spring, and The Antique Rose Emporium had several large shrubs that were totally in bloom this past spring!
