A big hearty welcome to YardmenderJr (Yardmenders niece). She is a terrific gal that I met at our Stockton Roundup. A real love of plants & a wonderful addition to our gardening family. :~)

Hi there Jr, and welcome to our wonderful garden site. I noticed your name on the new subscribers list last nite and wondered if you were related to Janie.
I hope you had a good time at the RU and go to meet some great people. Enjoy yourself and hope to see you around the forums.
Donna
Welcome YardmenderJr!! So nice to have you on here, and that you've taken such an interest in plants. It's great to have a family member with the same love of plants!! yahoo!!
Aunt Janie
Hi everybody!~
Wow, what a warm welcome... thank you all so much! I LOVE it here... I found a new home. Thanks so much. I had such a great time at the Round Up in Stockton and can't wait to go to the next one. This time I'll be ready!
Sorry it took me so long to reply... I'm such a newbie that I didn't know about the Welcome Mat!
Just for the record... Yardmender is my wonderful Aunt. She is also my wonderful teacher of all things that grow.
Just a little background on me - I'm a beginning gardener. My fiance and I remodeled a dilapitated home in Marysville, CA. On this acre of land, we started out with about 6 walnut trees, grapevines, a few plum trees, persimmon tree and some mistle-toe ridden cottonwoods (all of which have been neglected for years) -- oh yeah, and WEEDS!! We finished the house and I started concentrating on growing some things. I was really excited about new grass that was growing up by itself that I sent Janie a picture. She wrote me back to let me know that all those new starts, that were virtually everywhere, were really foxtails. That's when I realized I have a lot to learn :)
I have a large vegetable garden, but I actually love growing flowers and plants more than vegetables. I started a bunch from seed this spring and I am now addicted.
I love my plants -- they are my babies! Thanks for such a wonderful place to cultivate my growing addiction to gardening. And thanks for helping a Yardmender-in-Training. I need all the help I can get :)
So, now I have real grass growing and am clearing all kinds of river rock and other stuff out of what will be the flower beds. I am starting from scratch, right now its just a clean dirt slate... gotta love that! :)
Anyway, sorry to be so long-winded! And thanks for the warm welcome again.
Hugs,
Karen
