I'm finally getting the hang of the new camera so I thought I post a peek of some of my things. I have some great volunteer mimulas

Some fun photos from my garden
Isnt it fun having a digital camera - I just got one a couple of days ago to. If it hadnt been raining past 48 hours I'd be out in the garden shooting everything!
Nice pics. Your volunteer pot looks great!

Ann, great shots, love the volunteer pot, what great colour.
LOL, you guys'll be sick of Cooper shots!
Linda
Love all those mimulas Ann. Everything looks lush and lovely. What's growing in the paper cup? (coleus pic)
echoes you always have the best darn eyes - i never notice stuff like that.
You have some very interesting plants in your garden Ann. I love the colours of the mimulas and coleus. What a lovely surprise your volunteer pot must have been. Those mrs Pollack geraniums have the most beautiful leaves....I've never seen any like them before. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Your camera takes good ones.
Sandy
Lynn, I thought it might be cat grass, or maybe Ann started some alliums.
Mimulas - on my must grow list for next year. Haven't tried them for years.

I'll look for your shots and I hope you are better than I at deciphering the camer/computer stuff.
Linda ... I will NOT get sick of seeing photo's of Cooper! Puppies and plants are two things that make me smile and I know Cooper will do many things to have us in stiches.
echoes ... LOL My Nicole wanted to grow grass in a cup so that is what its is , she has been caring for it all summer and amazingly it has survived. I thought about moving it befor I shot the picture but decided that it had been there all summer so it should stay.
The mimulas are from seeds that crossed from seeds a few years ago that Lynn and I tried so they have been mutating to some wonderfull colors. I think in a warmer place they may be a pest as they reseed readily here. They are very forgiving and when they get leggy you just chop them off and back they come. I do start them early inside and they are early bloomers and will take extreemly wet conditions.
The first ones were yellow and chocolate splotches and very large so when they mixed with the other colors It seems I have some large different kinds.

Gorgeous photos Ann. I really like your mimulas. Oh, who am I kidding. I like everybody's everything when I see their garden pics :-) --Ginny
Thanks Ginny!
And Sandy thankyou for complimenting me on my camera. I did try to pick one that would do the photos without too much work from me!
Ann
You're camera takes beautiful pics Ann; makes me want to upgrade my camera! Your mimulas are very stunning and such happy colours! I got to ask, because I'm new to alot of the terminology, but what do you mean when you use the word "volunteer"?
Thanks for sharing,
Erynne
Hi Ann,
Looks as though you've more than got the hang of your new camera. Enjoy and thanks for sharing the pics. I liked the Amaranthus and may try Mimulas as well. Very nice.

Thankyou all for your kind words. Even though you enjoy your own garden it is heartening when another gardener does!
Erynne , anytime, the volunteer's are the plants that reseed themselves with out any help from you. The mimulas were not in the pot they grew in but in an adjoining one and as I had a few health issues this year didn't get to do all that I usually do so I set that pot aside. I was happily surprized when I noticed the mimulas start and even more pleased when they burst into the colors I have shown you. They are a mix of the two different kinds of mimulas I had grown in the past and thus the term "volunteers".
Ann
Hi Ann,
Thanks very much for the definition. You have a beautiful potted plant there and I hope you get to enjoy it for a good while longer.
Erynne
