Hummers are starting their southward trek

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

My feeders have been very active the past week. Don't know if they are displaced due to the storm or if they are starting to head south already.

Trish, I was wondering the same thing. I had to go out and buy more feeders because there were quite a few of them all the sudden and they are so territorial.

Ours are pretty much gone....last seen 2 days ago....last date seen usually around this time in MA. So sad as we were getting better at catching them with the camera!

Lisa... I know... I just filled up three feeders yesterday and will have to do so again this evening... they zip from the feeders at the front of the house to the rear of the house.. little piggies..

ESW... you have next summer to look forward to.. we get to enjoy them now for about 2 months before they head further south.

They are zipping around my garden. I put up seven and they are still fighting over them.

Our experience fits right in. In the NC piedmont, we still have them, but fewer, after a wonderful excitement of young birds in August.
