Fantastic! Do you think it might be hardy in southern England.

I don't know. It certainly does not normally get exposed to snow and the snow here only stayed around for 24 hours. We do get three or four frosty mornings each winter and the plant is none the worse for it.

There are probably other Acacia species that are hardier than A. cardiophylla, such as the Silver Wattle (Acacia dealbata) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/2499/index.html

I will be collecting seed from both species this year, probably in December and would be happy to send some for the equivalent of a SAE, if you want to have a try.

I saw A.dealbata growing in a conservatory in England way back in the 1960's, and your climate appears to have warmed up since then and a lot of plants are grown outside now that would not have succeeded back then,

Thanks for the offer Ken, but I can obtain most Acacia seed relatively easy.
I saw your picture and thought it looked great covered in snow, but thats pretty rare then.
I think your right, things have warmed up here a bit over the last few years, dealbata can become a small tree over here now and pravissima grows like mad, bit untidy though.

What a beautiful photo. It almost makes me wish it would snow here. But not quite. THANKS
