Humming bird pics

Chickamauga, GA(Zone 7a)

Here are some pics I took 2 nights ago of hummers that fool around in my yard. I know nothing about humming birds but I think there is one called a red throat or something and that is what mine seem to be since you can see the red spot on their throat. In person it is almost a bright flourescent color. They are very fun to watch and will Buzz right by our heads without thinking twice. They will feed on the feeder with me just about a foot or two away.

The dive bomb each other in mid air will making neat little tweet noises! I just love these birds!

The Ruby throats are what we get here east of the Mississippi. The males have the red throat but the females don't. They are very aggressive and will stake out their territory. Looks like you've got good action at your feeder. Nice pics. Becky

When you say aggressive I kinda laughed! I thought they were playing! There are also these little moths that hang out on my butterfly bush and they always chase the humming birds away when they are near the feeder during the morning. I must have atleast 5 hummers that frquent my yard! We just love to watch them!
