It's true... They thrive on neglect

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Case in point. The only water it received was from the rain and we haven't had much this year. The only food was osmocote in the spring. Also take note the two driveways and the hot street out in front. This is the second show it has put on. Not to mention it grew from a small cutting into this monster. I forgot to mention that it has had NO mites or any real pest problems. Tell me why they don't all grow so easy?

Pretty one! That's the kind of brugs we all need,, blooms without food/water, bugs don't bother it, sigh.............dreaming here.

Now, if it would just winter over outside with no care, we'd have it made.

I pulled over and took a shot of this biggie while visiting a nursery in the seaside town of Santa Cruz. They don't all need pampering to bloom.

WOW! Now that's a Flush.

You do have to have decent weather for them to do so well. It has been way too hot here all summer, kept seeing buds, that dried up and fell off 3 times before cooler temps. now blooms coming, hope they hurry before Jack Frost comes this way.

WOW is right
someday I have to see one that big in bloom
I freaked for a minute thinking it was in Jersey!

Datdog, your Rosamond needs to have a talk with mine - she wintered outside and is about 12 feet tall, huge trunks, and has buds and i fully expect her to bloom, maybe, by Halloween. Yet, I have a smaller RD, also wintered outside that has bloomed on and off all summer. I dunno.

Love that flush ca sue. Paul I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't use your wonderful gift or the other stuff- heck what is the name. Remember I told you I lost it, then I found it, you brought a little pouch of it for me? Brain dead I tell you.
I was scared that it would kill the praying mantis babies I had and I did't want to risk it. I put it in my cool basement and will use it next spring.

Sherry I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you Rosamond blooms before Halloween.

Gloria yours have to bloom!!! I'll be doing a naked chicken dance under the moon to help them along- OR kill them LOL.... Wouldn't you be mad :)

** sorry for not getting back having cable internet issues and I'm off more then on **

What bloomin' beauties!!!

pphil1, are you a dog breeder?? The naked chicken dance, under the moon, is what some breeders suggest when attempting to coax a girl dog into season.
