this new seedling is a Black Dragon offspring cross, it is about 6 ft+ and has large flowers of a coral/salmon/orange , hard to describe.I took these pics just before a storm with 75MPH wind gusts blew it over. it survives. If this plant pans out I want to propagate and send to our friends that lost their plants and or homes in Katrinas path. I have named it "NEW HOPE" whats everyone think?? OOPS almost forgot..it has deep bronze/purple leaves like its mother.
Need comments on new canna seedling..
It is gorgeous! New Hope is a wonderful name and I think you can send it to help rebuild gardens with pride.
Kyle, If the color that I am seeing on my monitor is even close to accurate it is a beautiful color! I think the name very fitting for such a lovely introduction and for sharing with those that have lost so much of their gardens.
Oh my, New Hope is a perfect name for such a perfect plant. May it truly give new hope to those who have lost so much due to Katrina.
Blessings, AnaM

Just gorgeous, love the bloom and foliage coloring! And as many said here already, perfect name and a thoughtful gift to give 'new hope' to those ravaged by the storm. Hope to eventually be able to get some out here to CA.
Is there an official registration and naming for cannas beforehand?
It's beautiful Kyle.
I'm not sure Cal. Sue, will have to look into it.
