Update to Kristi's BF X Creamsicle seedling

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

I thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing an updated pic of this seedling I'm growing of Kristi's cross. It is now over 7ft tall and has Y'd several times. This is me on a ladder tonight checking for buds! LOL I don't think there are any yet..I keep seeing what looks like buds and then they get bigger and turn out to be leaves. dang. On the other side is Dawna Bernier's VO X Rosabelle cross - that's turning into monster number 2 - it is 6.5ft tall with no buds yet either...

my clock is tickin' here.......

Nice looking seedlings. I hope you will have time to see them flower.

Muskegon, MI(Zone 5a)

Wow, those are huge brugs.......thanks for sharing them..I hope you get blooms ....Judy

LOL Paul...yeah, I know I am amazed at the size of those leaves too. Those are the original leaves - that are so big heavy and strong they just will not fall off as they age like most brugs. The trunk is the other amazing thing. Both these brugs have huge trunks that my hand can just barely fit around the whole trunk. NONE of my other brugs have huge trunks like these. I would almost need a chainsaw to cut them down.. LOL

Yep, I dont know you but I think whatever you are feeding these monsters is working. Actually, I think I printed out the list of goodies you feed them (at least I think it was you) and carry it in my purse with the intention of picking some of them up as I shop. Already got the Spray-N-Grow, still need to use it. Better get a move on as fall seems to have arrived here.

My what Monster Brugs you have Diane!!
They look great you are dwarfed by them.
You should caption your photo.

Diane I noticed you have one of those topsy turby or whatever they are called, the green upside down planter. Do you mind me asking what did you plant in yours? I have one and put a tomato in it. It died. My DH said it wasn't natural for a tomato to grow up side down.

I have never seen a Brug with leaves that large. I wonder if the blooms will be 15 feet long? When it does bloom, please post some pics. I wanna see what they look like. Thanks!

That is going to be the first brug in history with a treehouse in it. Amazing leaves!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I got my Creamsickle from above the "Y" so it's gotten 3 feet high at most. It is spending its energy growing sideways. It's hard to believe that it could sire anything that tall.

I hope Diane you have gotten rain and are able to water your beautiful babies. I am dying to see what you get. I sure am hoping for rain for you!

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

doin okay, Kell...it has been raining like crazy since about 10:30 this morning YEAH!! I actually drove home on my lunch hour and my beautiful brugs seemed to be literally dancing in the rain. I could almost hear an audible "thank you" coming from them. I looked up at God and said, "they are thanking, You, of course - not me - and I am thanking you too."

WOOHOO...I'm doin the HAPPY dance here!!!!!! Tonight I found BUDS on both of Kristi's two BF X Creamsicle seedlings I have grown. The tall one (I call "monster seedling" above) has 2 buds on her! and her pod sibling shown here (this one is about 4-5ft tall) has one too! I'll post a close up of the bud next..

Here is BF X Creamsicle #1 seedling (now 8ft tall) that also has 2 buds on it, but I couldn't steady myself on the ladder enought to take a picture..) This seedling is on the right here. The one on the left (Versi Orange X Rosabelle by Dawna Bernier has a bud TOO!) YEAH!

oh, yes...You probably noticed that these two monster seedlings lost most of their beautiful 3-4ft leaves on the bottom during the violent rainstorms we had here last weekend..but I'm not complaining as I was so desperate for the RAIN..

Fantastic job Diane !

Hey don't knock dat storm, I'm a firm believer that plants love da static charged air that comes with thunderstorms.
See ..... now you have buds !

Good luck (((*-*)))

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Scoot - you are prolly right about the thunder. I have noticed that you can water plants with a hose day and night and they just don't respond the way they do to a natural rainfall. Gosh..everything just picks up and SINGS after a rainstorm. Hose water may keep em alive - but only God and mother nature can make em thrive.

Hey..I'm a poet and didn't know it :-)

LOL , Good one tho ;-)
