WANTED: yellow and or white 4 O'Clock seeds for SASE

Chickamauga, GA(Zone 7a)

I am wanting to do something in my yard I saw a picture of on here with Cannas and 4 O'Clocks. I have some bright pink seeds already, but wanted the yellow and white flowers in this too...if anyone could help me out I would love it.

Or maybe I have something you would rather trade for?
I dont have much as far as seeds go.... but I have some blush hibiscus seeds (this is a hardy hibiscus), and a very small amount of touch me not seeds. I also have in my yard, that I could get seeds from.....Jewels of Opar & Wisteria. Not sure on the wisteria because I just pruned the heck out of it and havent found too many seed pods so far but sure I could find atleast one.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Stacy

Hi Stacy! I have tons of yellow and a few white 4o'clock seeds. I will send them to you with the Sweet William if you want.
addy in the exchange.
Better put $.60 on the envelope. a 37 cent and a 23 cent.
I I really like the blush hibiscus. I have never started a hibiscus from seed though. How long before it would bloom do you think?
I am in zone 6a, do you think it would be hardy here?
Thanks!

I have never started one from seed either but I plan on starting a bunch this spring or winter I guess in side....I did a seed trade last night with a girl for some hardy hibiscus and she said it is pretty easy. germinate them then put them in a small pot till they are strong enough to put in the ground.

These particular hibiscus grew pretty big just in this one summer! I got them as twigs with more flower then leaves on them and now they are a big bush! (picture at bottom of what size it is now.)
I'd say it is atleast 4 times the size it was about 3 months ago.

I believe they are suppose to be able to last through negative 10 or 20 degrees?? I think if they are hardy for me in North Georgia they should be fine for you...I will send you 20-30 of the seeds that way you can mess around with them. And have some to trade later if they work for you.

ROFL, I'll take some of that black and white too! You send the seeds and I will send you the Sweet William and 4 o'clock seeds. Is your address in the exchange? I can send them tomorrow if you want.
Thanks!

Hi Stacy! I couldn't find your address in the exchange. I have your seeds ready to go when I get your address. I thought I had a bunch of 4 o'clock seeds, but when I went to collect them, all I could find was yellow. The white ones have all fallen off. Sorry. I have sent you all the yellow ones. There are still some that aren't ready yet, so if that isn't enough, I can send more later.

Thanks so much I just added my name to the address thing! I will send out your seeds tomorrow also!

Do you know if they produce seeds more then once a summer?? My nieghbor is who I am getting the hot pink seeds off of and I want more from her too LOL

As long as they are blooming, they will produce seeds. BUT when they are ripe (black) they tend to just fall out, so you have to catch them just right. That's why once you get them growing, they come back the next year from all the seeds that fall out. You have to start pulling them out or they will take over.

Circle Pines, MN(Zone 4b)

I started some hardy hibiscus under lights last winter, and it bloomed this summer! I hope they make it through the winter.
