This is my first bloom of the season, and it looks terrible. What is wrong?
What is wrong?
Some doubles tend to ptoduce more or less distorted (deformed) flowers. Do you know the name of the hybrid?
No, I am not sure. Oriole (my mom) would know better.
My Creamsickle did that in June and early July. It was very hot and the humidity very low. I wonder if the distortion has something to do with low humidity.
I doubt it, Betty. Our humidity is NEVER low (unfortunately) and I've had a number blooms just like that on my Sunkissed. It's like they had trouble splitting their calyx and got squinched up. There have been freaky blooms all over the place this year - I'm just putting it all down to weather. Hopefully things will even out as the weather clears.
