How in the world do I know what wattage bulb to buy? I've bought them before for anoles and frogs but I tended to go on the lower side for fear of burning any one.
The bulb I have now came with my turtle. He's a baby red eared slider.
What's the right watt? Should I get the new lamp first, then measure distance from the socket to his basking area surface?
