Hi Kell:
I just purchase this exact same vine. We are in Phoenix. So I don't know if I can plant yet. How has it done in the Heat. Your pictures are beautiful. Any planting tips?
Thanks
Linda

We do not get that hot right here. Usually stays around 75 in summer. And it does fine. Good luck with yours.

Very nice!

So far so good with the bower vine in Phoenix. It is growing but I think I will have to cover it if we get a freeze.

Good luck with it. I hope it makes it thru with flying colors!

Kell:
I think my vine got frozen. Who would think in Az. And I even had it covered.

So sorry about your loss. I can relate, I have so much freeze damage right now I could be sick. I have a huge vine over my porch that looks dead. I am so shocked. Worse damage in the 30 years I have lived here.

Kell:
I have a little life left in the vine. How long do you have to wait to prune? I would like to do some now and then cover. We can have a frost mid February.
So sorry about you vine. Big stuff is really hard to take. I have 6 hugh ficus that are completely brown. I hope they don't die. They surround my yard.
Happy New Year

Isn't it just so terrible? I am also afraid if we start getting lots of rain like we usually do in winter, I will have so much rot!

I do believe you are supposed to keep the old dead growth on till danger of frost is over for it will still protect the live parts some

I've had mine about three years now, but it has never bloomed. We do have slight frosts here too, but it has never damaged the vine. Any ideas on how to get it to bloom? Picture is of it on my trellis amongst the morning glory vines that keep coming up.

Sorry, but I do not. Are you sure that is the same plant? The leaf looks wrong.

Kell: Thanks for replying. I took some closer pictures and it sure looks like the vine that is posted under the Bower Vine. It is a waxy leaf. Now you have me wondering if it is the same one. Here's another picture.

Hi,
WarneC, your photo shown the variegated Vinca/Periwinkle vine. It is very hardy I have had mine at Western NY area made it thru the Winter years after years because it was planted beside the garage. It has small purple/violet flower sometimes although not as much as the regular green Vinca vine. It has small leaves and flower and making a great ground cover fast. It is not the same as Pandorea Jasminoides which has big and thick glossy leaves and flowers and not suitable for the Northern zones. Hope this will help.

I need help! I am in Phoenix and I planted 2 bower vines in pots and they initially did great. I'm not sure if I'm overwatering...the top is dry, but I cut out the bottoms of the planters so they wouldnt be root bound and underneath it seems to stay wet even after a couple of days(despite the top soil being dry as a bone). The issue is, one has dark green leaves and is somewhat droopy despite blooming shortly after I transplanted. the other is sad looking...the leaves are wilty, and some have black splotching, others appearing copper-ish. This one has limited sun exposure, but the nursery I bought it from said that was fine. They aren't stricken with disease mostly, from what I have read. Is this just a watering issue? They were so beautiful and now they are just droopy and sad! I can take pics if that helps....thanks for any suggestions
