New Gardener

Hammonton, NJ

HI everyone,
I recently discovered Dave's web site, and in the few weeks I have been a member, I have learned so much about plants and gardening...I am originally from Chicago and now live in Southern New Jersey. I am new to gardening and spend most non-working moments outside.. I would love to incorporate any surplus cuttings and seeds anyone might have and I am more than willing to send postage. I am trying to develop part of my garden that will attract birds and butterflies. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please let me know.. I also feel it will be so wonderful to have plants that have come from different parts of the country.. I thank Dave for allowing us to connect........... Sylvia

I don't know where to tell you to look to find the info. But drive the backroads and look for wildflowers gone/going to seed. Going out after some butterfly weed seeds one of these days. It's an excuse to take a ride - hope I mind-marked the place good enough.

I'll be glad to send you some monarda citra[something or other] -aka lemon mint. seeds they're an annual and once yu plant them they will come back on their own.

Slyvia,

Look at the Butterflies and Hummingbirds forum. Post a thread there for suggestions and I bet you'll get lots of ideas.

Welcome to DG and good luck!

Welcome, Sylvia. I can send you mixed hollyhock seeds and maybe some Sebrina Althea but that is about all I have this year(so far). May have some nonfragrant perennial sweet pea seeds later. Send me your full name and address and I will get an envelope fixed up for you.
