My dog Candy has some kind of allergy or something and I'm not sure what it is. I took her to the vet about 2 weeks ago and since she was abused, nobody can touch her except me. So the vet couldn't really check her out and gave me something that should make the allergy go away as well as an antibiotic shot in her little butt. Well it all went away but since the medication is empty the whole thing starts all over again. When I played with the dogs tonight I realized that she was scratching herself around her neck quite a bit and when I checked she was blood red on the neck and open from the scratching...my poor baby...
Does anyone know of any type of alternative or holistic medication to put on her neck and treat it myself. I don't want to keep on giving her this medication (called Cephalexin) since it doesn't really seem to help her. Any kind of herb I could put on there that gives her some relief? What could she be allergic to? Something in my yard? Food?
