Have: Redskin Dahlia & Echinacea 'Indiaca' & 'Bravado'

(Zone 7a)

I have seeds of Dahlia variabilis "Redskin' I would like to trade for a different type of Dahlia. I have 8 of these seeds which are plenty. Each one will germinate. These seeds are hard to collect.

Echinacea purpurea 'Indiaca' & 'Bravado' 25 seeds each.
Echinacea purpurea 'Ruby Star' 10 seeds

Thanks!

I have some Dahlia tubers that did not get planted.

One is a giant yellow. I'd have to go look in the garage for the name. You think they would still be good? They are in the original bag with a small amount of green growth.

Here is a picture of the Echinaceas I have that I should be getting seeds from soon. The purple is a dwarf about 18 inches, the yellow with the brown center is Parks Maya about 15 inches, the orange with the large brown center is Autumn Colors, Parks; about 15 inches, and the one in the back is kind of like a teddy bear with hardly any center and is about 30 inches.

All but the purple were started from seed. The tall one last year and the Maya and Autumn Colrs this year. I don't know if they would be true to the parant, but since they were from seed I would think they should. The purple dwarf might not.

Are dahlia seeds planted like other annuals?

(Zone 7a)

I'm not sure how to answer that question...They do germinate easily though. All seeds aren't the same including annuals so I'm not sure what you mean.

Centerville, UT(Zone 6a)

You're right. That was a pretty vague question. What I meant to ask is whether any special preparation of the seed was necessary, such as drying, cooling, stratification, soaking, or whether any sort of germination temperature should be used, but all that's just too complicated. My question should have been, "How do YOU do it?"

I've recently become quite addicted to daylilies and found my first seed pod this year. I just don't know what to do with the seeds now. I sure would appreciate any advice about what works for you.

Dahlia seed germinate readily. No hardships..I've even germinated them in wet paper towels. Just pop them in soil.

I am interested in the Echinacea purpurea 'Indiaca' (25 seeds) and Echinacea purpurea 'Ruby Star' (10 seeds)

I have the following dahlia tubers for trade. They did not get planted this spring, does this effect the life of the tuber? (bag hasn't been opened, keep in a cool dry spot)

'Dutch Explosion' - 1 tuber
'Kelvin Floodlight' - 3 tubers

(Zone 7a)

I'm sure they'll be fine. Are you sure you want to trade tubers for seeds? I will be happy to send postage with my trade. PLMK
