Please ID me!

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

This was the first brug I ever got. She flowered the first year in a pot, not the second year and this year I planted her in the ground and she's estatic! She's very happy and thanked me for the move.

She's in the second flush of flowers right now, better than the first!

Any who, who is she?

She starts out yellow and ages to pink.

Looking up. Oh, she's slightly scented, like rose.

Very beautiful! Congratulations :)

Unfortunately it is impossible to id your brug from pictures. There are so many pinks that closely resemble each other.

What I can tell you is that it is normal for all of these kinds of pinks to start out yellow and change to pink.
Your brug is definitely not Isabella because Isabella does not have ruffled or wavy leaf edges.
Your brug does has suaveolens-like leaves (wavy edges) so it might be suaveolens Frosty Pink. It would be best if you could trace back to the source you received the plant from for the proper id.

Your plant definitely loves her summer home!

Well this is my Isobela, and she is wavey, and looks like yours only I think mine is a darker Pink

I wouldn't say that she's an Isabella b/c she doesn't have a pink rim. I have no idea who gave her to me. It was such a long time ago, a whole three years! Lol, it feels long.

Do you guys keep unnamed ones if you really like them? Some people get so serious about names.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I do. I have three or four right now that are unnamed, just because I like them.

Very few collectors want to trade named brugs for unknowns. There's different reasons that names are important.
Some need to keep track of names for geneology/hybridizing purposes.
Some people just simply want to know what they are growing so they can trade intelligently.
Some people collect names just for the sake of collecting names.

In cases when you don't know the proper name it is best to call it "unknown pink or whatever the color is".

It,s impossible to id for certain, from the picture, but that light pink and flower shape look like 'Cotton Candy',one of Eric's hybrids.

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

It did have a nice cottony color. Mmm... cotton candy... maybe at the fair tomorrow. Sorry, a bit off topic but I'm hungry.

Looks like Insignis Pink to me.

Sometimes when I see insignis pink pictures they look so much like Isabella. Pretty picture. Don't forget Strawberry Cream. It is the same kind of pink too. Wow! Incredible just how many pink with white brugs there really is.

I've seen solid pale pink flowers on my Isabella in the past. I would never have believed it if I didn't see them with my own eyes.

This first picture was taken 7-30-03 TN
It is not drooping from the heat. It was born this shape and never changed to a deeper color.
If I sent you guys a picture of this flower and asked you to id it would you have guessed right?

Can you id this one?

If you said Isabella you win!
Picture taken 10-20-03 She stayed pale pink and very ruffly recurved her entire flower life.

On the same plant a pale pink older flower and a more normal looking new flower. Go figure! I've seen Isabella with so many different looks.

Regardless, she is a performer and I love her, no matter what shade or form she takes :))
Here is mine -- she has been so beautiful all Summer !!

Just pointing out how dangerous it can be to id a brug picture. Having so many faces is one of the things I love about Isabella.

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

I bet breeders use Insignis for a lot of their crosses. With so many forms to choose from, you could single out a lot of nice traits on particular plants.

Maybe I'm just not a brug person but a lot of them look the same to me. It seems like it's only slight variations that seperates them.
